I agree it is boring, and often times i end up doing something else or sleeping through it, but i always catch the last 40 laps or so. Or the last pitstop to the final lap. Every once in a while there'll be a really close finish and thoose are more exciting then anything! what was the last one i think it was in georgia or alabama.

There is really only one logical answer to this question - Why the hell is Nascar so popular? Because everyone who watches it are complete morons. When there not watching NASCAR, they're foaming at the mouth over wrestling, which is another perfect example of why some people's lives are so easily led by idiots. Nine times out of ten they drive pickups!

I will never understand the NASCAR fans who think that bicycle racing is boring.

Everyone has thier sport of choice, even though I find Nascar, or ANY racing in general, a complete waste of time, there's someone who sits on thier ass for hours watching this crap & thinking my sport is a waste of time aswell! :Q.

<NHL season starts soon, muhahahahaha>

I seem to remember hearing about the Grand Prix of Long Beach having a whopping 3 lead changes among 2 drivers. WOO! That'll keep you on the edge of your seat. Sitting around waiting to see if anyone will ever pass anyone else. Now watch the race this weekend at Bristol. 43 guys, 1/2 mile. I don't care if you're 12 laps in the lead, you still don't have it in the bag until you see the checkered flag. Noone is ever alone for more than 5 laps. WRC drivers had mad skill, and it's fun to watch, but there's less side by side action than the line at the DMV. It's driving to me, not racing.

I agree. I do not like NASCAR but I see the appeal. There is more action in one lap at talledega than an entire F1 race.

Hmm, well maybe not at Talladega, all the time, with the restrictor plates.LOL.

Talladega Superspeedway
Talladega Superspeedway is the biggest, fastest, most competitive motorsports facility in the world. Records for both speed and competition have been established at Talladega. Built at a cost of more than $4 million, the track opened as Alabama International Motor Speedway in 1969

Nextel Cup Qualifying Record
Bill Elliott 212.809 1987

1987!! The next year the restrictor plates went on,slowing the cars down.

I wonder what speed the old Winged cars would run, with current tires.?? ;)

I used to not like it, never could stand watching a race on tv, kinda like baseball. I went this past spring to one race down here and it wasn't bad. Although I still won't watch a race on tv, but will watch the highlights of a race on tv. And I wouldn't mind going to another race. How many of the idiots here dissing NASCAR have ever been to a race?

Long Beach Grand Prix is not Formula One. Hasn't been since 1981 or so.

Same here, I thought nascar was stupid, but I was able to watch the Bristol race this spring. It was great, I record all the races now on my replay, and can skip parts if I like.

Everyone like different sports, I can't understand why people like hockey, basketball, or soccer. It takes all kinds.

I enjoy watching many types of auto racing, including Nascar. Before, I could sit through an entire race but now I'll just watch the first 20+ laps then come back later and watch the ending. This holds true for any sports I watch on television, excluding watching the Panther's play. Any sport can be boring at times, at least for me anyway.

Also, there are other types of racing organizations that "go 'round in circles over and over". IRL for instance. Don't stereotype people who watch Nascar, it makes you look ignorant. I know many intelligent, non-"rednecks" who watch it.

2) Nascar is single handedly the most boring thing I've had the displeasure of watching. I guess the only worse thing to watch on TV is Curling.

curling is actually entertaining
