Why the hell is Drawn Together still on the air?

Obviously there must be some people who watch it but I don't think I've ever spoken to someone who found this show remotely funny.

It use to be great, the last couple of seasons were just full off... bleh. But to answer your question, I do watch it and can tell you it WAS a funny show early on.. Good news for you though, tonight is the series finale.

Go to Walmart and ask the crappiest looking people there. I bet you'll find some people who like it.

It's on my TV at the moment, and I usually turn it right away when it comes on. The show is disgusting, and meant for overly obese 40 year olds living with their parents.

I agree. I saw the early stuff and it was very twisted and hilarious. Now, they're just beating on the same jokes over and over again. Wouldn't be too sad if they ended it tonight.

I never understood the premise of it. Are the characters actually drawn by different cartoonists, or is it just supposed to be like a reality show?

My take on it was that it's a spoof on reality shows by throwing a bunch of fictional characters together in a reality tv show setting ala Big Brother.

I have no idea how they are like now (I've been missing all of the shows for this season and the last) but when I saw the first season, I was hooked.

Wow.. I think if you don't like it, it's because you don't understand the satire. You'd have to hate South Park and those Adult Swim cartoons too.

Comedy Central doesn't exactly have a huge quality lineup where they can just replace it. But...you don't have to watch it, so no worries. There are 11ty billion shows on TV where I could think "how the hell is this on the air".

I hate it, love south park, and most adult swim cartoons.

Just because somebody doesn't like something doesn't mean that they don't understand it. We know they're parodies, but the jokes suck, and the show tries to base itself on how disgusting it can be...much like the Sarah Silverman show.

I don't think the satire is the problem.. it's just a shitty show that caters to the lowest common denominator. To compare that show to south park is an insult really.

That said, another show like this that I just didn't understand why it was on the air was Crank Yankers. Who the hell wants to hear the lamest phone pranks from the already-scraped bottom of the barrel washed up comedian pile they unearthed for this shit and then to sweeten the pot, they recreate it with puppets. The worst part of the whole thing is that they cancelled upright citizens brigade for it and it stayed on a lot longer. 😕

I love south park, ATHF, futurama, family guy.

I absolutely hate drawn together.

Drawn Together is very hit or miss episode wise. But, while I say that, I haven't seen any of the recent episodes, so they could all be misses. Some of the previous ones were funny though.

Crank Yankers had a few awesome skits that are still floating around the internet. Like when Wanda Sikes called a car service center and wanted to know why someone took a huge dump in the back seat of her car. "Smells like someone sold their ass to the devil"

Yea I did like the first season, but its really gone downhill since then. We get it...toot is gross, xander is gay, ling ling is a pokemon....meh.

I enjoy the show. It's not my favorite, but it makes me laugh.
It started at as a total spoof on reality shows, then it turned into complete parody of old and new cartoons not focusing on the reality show part as much. I guess it's going to end on the reality show part again as someone will get voted out.

I wouldn't stay up late to watch it, but I DVR it and watch it at my leisure.

Then maybe you don't like that kind of satire. You know all the characters are parodies right?

The satire in that show is completely obvious and lame. It's just poorly written. Only idiots like it.

I like south park, adult swim, old simpsons, old family guy, Daily Show, Colbert etc.

Another horrible show on CC is Mind of Mencia. Who the fuck watches that crap?

The worst "comedy" show on TV has to be Wonder Showzen

I honestly did not see anything funny on Wonder Showzen 95% of the time. The comedy writing was just awful. It makes Drawn Together look like intellectual highbrow comedy, by comparison. If you take the worst part of all the funny shows on TV and put them all together, you get this rancid steaming turd. Then they sarcastically throw in completely clueless kids to the mix, like this somehow makes it even more hilarious. I feel sure none of those kids parents ever let them see the finished product, if you can call a polished turd that. Some episodes just went on and on with the lowbrow humor to the point it was actually just obnoxious continuous ranting on stereo types, and I am sure you can guess what ones. The humor wasn't just lame or laking on those particular episodes, it was completely absent. It was so bad and offensive that if someone came over or called while I was watching it, I would turn off the TV out of embarrassment that I even had it on. It was that bad.

BTW, I DVR Drawn Together along with some other crap comedy like South Park and Sarah Silverman. So I obviously have no taste in comedy at all, to start with.

I think it stinks, but I guess the minority who like it, like it because of the creativity of the reality TV cartoon idea theme I guess.
