Why the hell do car sites not answer their email?

I've sent an email now to 4-5 different car sites and gotten a response from only one. Do they not want to sell me a car? Whats their story? It totally turns me away from them when they won't answer a simple question in regards to a potential $10k+ sale. Dumb asses!

I've had that happen to me also. A few years ago AutoByTel.com was REALLY hyped up and my mother wanted to buy a new Honda Civic LX. So I went to AutoByTel.com filled out all the info, received an automated response giving a local contact name and number for a salesperson at a local dealership who would e-mail me within 48 hours (this was on a Monday). 72 hours later, nothing. So I called the guy, he's on vacation referred to another salesperson, their voice mail says they're in training for the next 2 weeks who referred me to someone else who's voice mail answers. Left a message, waited until the next day for a return call, none. So I called again and HOLY SH!T he answers! He says he can work out a great deal, so we go to the dealership and my mother really likes the guy we talk about the car, talk some numbers, then my mother says she wants to think about it. I have some questions the next day, I call and leave a message, no return call. The next day I call and leave another message on his cell voice mail, still no return call.

My mother was willing to write the guy a check for $13,200 no hassle, slam dunk deal. The moron wouldn't return ANY calls, argh how annoying!

I've read several articles on how internet sales are a bust...I guess they haven't got the stafff!

You can get a better deal by reseraching a specific auto and go shopping for it with loan already arranged.

That was the old rule!

With zero financeing and very weak sales pick out your car and get a few dealers in a bidding war! That might take some effort, but the savings could easily be a thousand bucks or more.

Actually the only one place that got back to me was Honda - it took just over a week and that was after asking for a new car through autobytel. The other 3-4 places I went to their website. Two of the places have nice large websites as well. SO anyway I used the email they have on their damn website. NOTHING!

Not just car sites. Many online companies don't.

I know. GRR. But with them its mildly understandable. With this it can easily cost them a major sale. Why do they do that? its not as if they're getting 500 emails a day either.

Oh actually now that I think of it honda did NOT get back to me the first time. I sent them an email and their system 2 days later sent me back a "thanks, how were we?" email, to which I replied and also said "You never replied to my first email" (it was one of the questions). Of course they never replied to that. Only after going to autobytel did they. So in fact not a single damn one of these sh*ty companies got back to me by using the email on their site.

And I'm much much nicer in those emails than I am in this thread, so they have no excuses :D
