Why the HD6850 was right for me.

1.) I got the card for £150 shipped right on release.
2.) The reviews showed it ahead of what NV is currently offering at that price.
3.) Noise is not an issue at all, in fact it makes less noise than my 4850. Heat seems to also be a zero issue as my case temps are just fine. As for power, the review above puts it in the range of a 4850 and is less than other similarly priced cards.
4.) Eyefinity. I have 3 displays so I wanted so I wanted the ability to output to 3 monitors from one card when I get the desk space.
5.) Throw in the noise levels, availability, regular driver updates etc. It was an easy choice.

A bit late since the card was out a month and a bit ago, but it's good to see value increasing in the mid-range all the time.

Totally agree!

Got mine a month ago too after a cool rebate I saw at NCIX...couldn't resist.

The next Catalyst 10.12 gonna full support the 6800 series and hoping to see a nice performance boost!

"Is this some sort of parody? "

So only nvidia buyers are allowed to talk about their purchases?

Is this some sort of parody?

What gave it away?

ON TOPIC:

Congrats on your new card, I've been looking at it closely for the past month, looks like it'll end up being the best purchase this year.

I think it's more of a rebuttal than a parody. however, that "other" thread was written by a much more controversial figure and is thus more popular. lonyo should use more words like "...but, but, PHYSX", or maybe say that he lives in the middle of the sahara and thus heat/power usage is very important to him if he wants more amd fan street cred.

funny how somebody was called out earlier as using only 1 liners in most of his posts yet he continues to do it.

When it was $179 at launch.. it was a great buy, not so much at $199 though. I really like this card and appreciate it as an engineering feat.. just like Ontario/Zacate.

I hope you are NOT enjoying the card. I don't want anyone enjoying the 6850 more then me.

BTW - If the OP truly owns the card, I don't see why this thread would ever get locked. Lonyo is free to post in the same manner as another forum member. In fact, I could create a thread about my latest graphics card. I might just do that. The last one I bought was a 5770. Maybe we should all create a new thread for why we purchased the video cards we did.
