Their standards for HOF enshrinement have gotten ridiculously high, especially in the last several years. Craig Biggio is someone that comes to mind. If Biggio retired today and didn't get to 3000 hits, I have my doubts about whether he'd get in on the first ballot. It's a joke.Originally posted by: JasonCoder
HoF voters IMO view themselves as the gatekeepers to some kind of elite baseball priesthood. They take themselves way too seriously. Concepts like redemption and contriteness have never mattered an ounce to these guys. If I'm wrong on this point it out - I can take it.
