Why the British are our buddies

An American tourist in London found himself needing to go to the bathroom
something terrible. After a long search he just couldn't find any public
bathroom to relieve himself. So he went down one of the side streets to
take care of business. Just as he was unzipping, a London police officer
showed up.

"Look here, old chap, what are you doing?" the officer asked.

"I'm sorry," the American replied, but I really gotta go."

"You can't do that here," the officer told him. "Look, follow me."

The police officer led him to a beautiful garden with lots of grass, pretty
flowers, and manicured hedges. "Here," said the policeman, "whiz away."

The American tourist shrugged, turned, unzipped, and started urinating on
the flowers. "Ahhh," he said in relief. Then turning toward the officer, he
said, "This is very nice of you. Is this British courtesy?"

"No," retorted the policeman. "It's the French Embassy."

Lol. Here's a good one (probably old as hell, but Feh):

Originally thought up by: some guy

SAN FRANCISCO MAN BECOMES FIRST AMERICAN TO GRASP SIGNIFICANCE OF IRONY

Jay Fullmer, 38, yesterday became the first American to get to grips
with the concept of irony.

"It was weird" Fullmer said. "I was in London and like, talking to this
guy and it was raining and he pulled a face and said, "Great weather eh?"
and I thought - "Wait a minute, no way is it great weather".

Fullmer then realised that the other man's 'mistake' was in fact
deliberate.

Fullmer, who is 39 next month and married with two children, aged 8 and 3,
plans to use irony himself in future.

"I'm, like, using it all the time" he said. "Last weekend I was grilling
steaks and I burned them and I said "Hey, great weather."

:D

It almost makes up for them burning down our White House.

Almost.

We still owe Spain a good kick in the nuts though. ;)
