Folks stop whining.

In this current context, which I expected you to understand, killing is not appropriate and would make you a bad person according to normal societal rules.

Says you.
Says the government and the Bible.

the bible can burn in hell

Just to make sure I got this right, how does protecting your home and potentially the life of you and your family make you a bad person?
I didn't know looting had anything to do with human life.

I thought it was just possessions.

oh wow.

LOL has anyone taken time to look at the exit data on the pic?

It's a month old as of yesterday.

This probably was taken in MS/LA/AL as Texas did not have any problems with looting from Katrina.

Well unless the refugee problem was really bad. :Q

Remember the Los Angeles riots because of Rodney king? i saw korean guys with guns on top of their liquor stores guarding...

who's looting?

i dunno where the picture was from, but interesting picture.

at least they managed to spell all the words on the sign right.

Or this one

the revolver that the guy is holding is the smith and watson 500 magum, no mistake about it.

The Smith and Watson, huh? What, Holmes had another sidekick?

funny thing is....put those guys in the same situation.....and they'd probably do the exact same thing.

People all around the globe would take food and water in that situation. Not everyone is going to be taking jewelry, designer clothes, and TVs from stores though.

There's some things that are really great about Texas.

Oh, and for the limp-wristed anti-gun zealots, guns keep your sorry asses safe and free. Remember that sometime.

That's how it oughta be in every state.. The more people with weapons, the safer society becomes, because MOST people are GOOD people. Shoot the bad people.

So how do you explain the USA? We have the most guns per capita, yet we lead the world in homicides. Maybe all those newpaper headlines are just safety in action?

I have nothing against owning guns (I live in Texas!), but it doesn't not reduce crime any more than the death penalty does. Criminals never PLAN on being caught (or shot).

It doesn't make me sleep better or "more free" because you have 6 shotguns in your closet. I don't know why you think it would...

And for that matter, see my comment above. There are other countries that don't even equip their Police with guns. And yet they have a lower homicide rate! Remember that sometime.

Just because you do not recognize how it helps is not proof that it in actually does not help. I think it does because you are able to sleep at night, and I believe that is because you feel secure in your knowledge that this country is well protected. I, as a private gun owner, am a part of that protection. It might sound corny, but the truth is that the forces of chaos are not held back by good will alone, they are kept in check only by the strength of arms of those willing to fight for order. Or put another way, all evil needs to win is for good men to do nothing. Are you willing and ready to fight for your way of life if needed? Or do you expect to let others to do it for you?

I would call you on this. Please name one country that does not equip thier police with guns.

The US does not have the highest homicide rate in the world.

And has a lower homicide rate...

Since he didn't even get the "highest homicide rate" right, I don't hold much hope for this one..

Living in Louisiana, I know and know of several people who drastically changed their minds about guns when they had to face the looting, or more to the point, the possibility of looting depending on the area. One guy's sister had bashed him mercilessly about owning guns. So guess what happened when she called to borrow one while in Baton Rouge after Katrina? Actually, he let her borrow one. But not before he ragged her mercilessly about her anti-gun stance. It kinda falls in with the statement that "there are no athiests in a foxhole."

Oh come on! Rita was nothing compared to Katrina.

LOTS of looting happened in Florida when Andrew struck too.

Of xourse the biggest looters of all are the price gougers. Back then and now.
