Hey!

My subscription ran out a few days ago, and I've been using forums. instead of subscriber.

What benefits does the subscriber thing offer now? forums. is just as fast, and the ads aren't bothersome.

i decided not to renew. Everytime a thread like this is started, people complain that nothing new is offered, and the mods post that things are coming, but they never do. I got sick of waiting.

My understanding is that the mods have no idea who is and who is not a subscriber.

Good question. I found that the normal forums were fast enough for me, and the ads are fine as I never pay attention to them anyway. Both the pm's and full text search are overrated, imo. Well higher pm's is nice, but not worth the subscribption fee by itself. It's just a matter of preference, I really don't find paying for "premium" features on web sites beneficial, but some people do and are happy.

I renewed mine in February just to support the site. It isn't that much money, and ads bother me anyway.

Hmmm....back when I subscribed, the regular forum site was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay slower. If everyone is saying it's quicker now, I may just have to trim my PM's down and check out the non-subscriber site for a while once my sub expires.

I was a subscriber up until June 28th... now I'm not...

These ordinary forums used to be so slow, which is the only reason I subscribed... now they're alright and I don't mind the ads so it's all good :)

I resubscribed for these reasons:
1 - Ads were very annoying for me... greatly reduced the visible forum area
2 - Speed - The non sub forums are much faster than when I originally subscribed... but there is still a noticeable delay when viewing threads.
3 - Full text search - avoid having people yell REPOST!

I never get PMs so I don't care if I have 100 or 1000. :p

Yeah I never get PM's or use the search feature so subscribing is rather pointless...

I think that they need to come out with some more benefits if they want people to subscribe yet again...

Haha. Damn Zim - I can't read or reply to the PM you sent me because I'm over my limit :)

242!

edit: I saw that coming, btw.

Full Text Search was nice, but not that nice.

Another reason is if you want to support the forums.

Otherwise I wouldn't re-subscribe.
