Why sometimes Ebay is not so bad!!

I bought this game used for $9.00 at gamestop...

for some reason two Ebayers had a bidding war and IT sold for $32.00 plus shipping.

I cannot fathom why anyone would pay $32.00 + ship for a game that sells for $19.99 brand new in every store..also, the fact that there are many of them for as low as $10 (Buy it Now) on Ebay.

now, we see if the winning bidder pays for it.

*update: the winning bidder just sent paypal payment*

hahahahahah

But dont forget about all the fees that ebay adds on, plus more if you collect through paypal.

I love how ebay just keeps going up on the charges, even though more and more people are using it.

Please be keeping $5,000 (five thousand) US dollars for your troubles.

sorry if people are confused.. I wasnt bragging about this, I just thought it was midly funny that someone would pay above retail price for a used gamecube game...

and yes, Ebay hijacks all my profits

supply and demand, is it not?

Yes, but ebay basically has a monopoly. There are other services, but most people dont trust them and are already familiar with ebay. Ebay is just greedy.

Step 1: Profit.
Step 2: Later they can drop their fees for a limited time, ensuring even more profit.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit.

I remember selling an HP 8x CD Burner for ~$43 shipped on eBay, when you could, at the time, buy a 52x CD Burner for ~$50 shipped at newegg.

What business is not? You charge what people are willing to pay.

well said. as long as my profits continue to increase due to the exposure ebay gives me, I have no problem with them raising their cut. plus, the extra pennies I pay per transaction isn't going to break the bank. yes, I pay over $2k/month in ebay fees, but my profits are enough to justify it.

I understand the intent of your post, and yes; you're right. People are idiots.

Remember this: "An item is worth only as much as someone is willing to pay for it." <--EBay Creed.

maybe the cheaper ones have a "Greatest Hits" stamp on it? (I dont really know actually). Some people are sticklers for getting the "original packaged" version of the game.

mine is greatest hits version.. I just didnt mention it..does that matter? If it does I can buy the guy another one and still make a profit
