my 250GB is getting close to full. it's mostly a combination of porn and DVD movies... I ripped most of my DVD's onto my harddrive so that I don't need to search for disks whenever I want to watch a movie on my media center.

Yeah, it's definitely the no0b in you.

As was mentioned above, hang around here long enough and you'll want an upgrade. :D

Spend enough time on these forums, and soon you'll be looking at a dual-CPU system with a 6-disk RAID 5 array and 2 GB of RAM. :)[/quote]

I heard that. :)

I got a promise SX6000 raid controller using 5 80GB drives on raid 5, another 80GB as the boot up drive, and a external 200GB drive. I also have a 120GB drive I've yet to install. Someday I'll get to backing the 80GB drive and the raid array up on the external drive, and then put the 80GB drive into the array. Still not sure what to do with the 120GB. Ideally I'd like to get rid of the 80GB drives and replace them with 200 or 250GB drives and have 1+TB.

Why do we need CD writers faster than 16X? I mean, if you can't wait 4 minutes to burn a CD, you need to reorganize yourself.

Same argument goes for DVD writers faster than 8X.

Actually, you know the answer. You just choose not to use your pc the way that others use theirs. If you use your hdd's for backup or to store media (audio & video) you will start to eat up hdd space.
