Why should I get broadband?

Can anyone give me some good reasons?

I am currently paying $14.95/month for dial-up and $3.95/month for call-waiting so I can receive calls when I'm on-line.

256K DSL service is $29.95/month.

Other than faster downloads, will I see any adavantage when surfing?

Is it worth it to spend the extra $10 month for DSL?

pages will all load in 1 second, you'll actually be able to watch the movies when people post them, and you won't need call waiting waiting. Also, you won't need to dialup, just open up IE and you're ready to go, if you play games online they'll be 10 times more fun with a 30 ping that 300 ping.

It'd be worth $10 month to me. $10/month is nothing.

try using broadband if one of your friends has it. it makes a world of a difference surfing the internet, downloading files, and playing online games. i guarentee that once you sign up for broadband, you will NEVER go back to dialup.

Because, ya doof, it's there. $10 a month extra for a much better arrangement (call-waiting as opposed to actually being online -and- on the phone? No comparison)

Yes it's worth every penny of that extra $10/month unless you surf the internet less than 1 hour a month.

Consider yourself lucky it costs me $31.95 DSL from QWest + $25 ISP + $25 regular phone service for my DSL experience.

You can stay a turtle indefinitely, no one is making you. we live in a free country and if you cannot afford to pay a little more well i can understand.

If you are going for cable, might as well get a T1 line... only $450 more than a cable line.

think he's concerned with cost though!

That was a sarcastic remark... but I guess my sarcasm check got bounced.

I like broadband b/c I'm always online - if I want to check out the website of a company I saw on a commercial, I don't have to dial up, wait for a busy signal, try again and then finally get there. I can just type in the addy and I'm there.

BTW, I have Comcast HSI...it rocks, and with a Linksys 4-port router, it's even better.
