Why should children attend public/private schools instead of homeschool?

I believe in choice for all people.

I'm firmly pro-choice, I believe women should have the right to choose what's right for them, they're human beings and it's a basic human right. Women are human beings and that's their right. I hate those who want to trample women's rights, I have female siblings and I want them to be happy and safe.

Homeschooling should be a right, a choice.

Not everyone wants to attend public school. Some people want their kids to just have some comfort at home and safety, security. Freedom of association, etc.

Because there are few people who know enough about everything that needs to be taught, have the teaching skills, and the time to teach students well.
And that's without the socialising aspect.
Plus a significant amount of homeschoolers do it because they are bat shit crazy and don't want anyone to challenge that.

Some choices are Child Abuse. Your child is not your Pet Project. They need the ability to function in the World when they leave home.

I know a lot of people that were homeschooled and turned out fine. I really don't have a problem with it. I think there should be some sort of system of accountability, though. Although I'll freely admit I don't know what that would look like.

I have zero interest in homeschooling my own kid, and I believe our local public schools provide a much better and well rounded academic and social education than I could ever provide.

I also left public school in 10th grade and finished via self taught correspondence and I've known kids that have done it at younger ages that thrived afterwards. I've also known kids that did horribly in homeschooling and did much better when their parents finally put them in public schools.

Where I draw the line is "school choice." Put your kid in the local school or pay for private yourself. It's bullshit that white rich people can move in and gentrify an area then send their little snow whites to some BS charter school, that only hurts the public schools further.

Whose choice? It's not the child's choice. You mean it's the parent's choice. What if the parents are shitty at teaching their kids but they've Dunning-Kruegered their way into thinking they're good at it?

When you take the standardized Geology test and you homeschooled based on faith, the question on the age of the Earth comes up. What is the answer

A. 10K years
B. 4.5 billion years

You know a woman's right to chose how her body is used is the same as a parent's right to control their kids.

Regardless it's homeschooling banned any where in the US?

Public school is a good thing: help build community, get people to potentially interact with others outside their little hoity-toity rich circles, and help create a common civic culture.

However, if you want to home-school or send your kid to private school, have at it (as long as there are standards). Just don't come looking at the taxpayer for help.

Edit:
I also think the bot is broken. What does homeschooling have to do with being pro-choice re:abortion. I believe the GettyBot needs a reboot.
