Free expression. and internet allows for things that you normally cannot do in face2face situation. Brings out whatever human inside has, sorta like people doing crazy thing when they're drunk.

There are still good people, it might be that negative things get noticed more easily

Because you pay more attention to the jerks online than the ones who don't do anything to aggravate people.
