Why people hate realplayer so much?

Because it crashes, there is always a freaking update available, the pop ups never cease and you have to disable the start up in the msconfig file. Enough reasons? 😉

It installs a bunch of crap and it doesn't uninstall nicely at all.

ZV

and it's slow too! grr!

change that to "it installs half of the crap that comes with it" AND it is a security leak waiting to be exploited... wha??? me??? naaaa????

And the fact that in order to find the free version, you really really have to squint your eyes as it will be written in the smallest fvking font in the most remote corner of the real player home page.

To get the best of RP you have to pay for it. Quicktime is better and faster. And Windows Media Player is really starting to own.

Don't know. I just go disable all the crap in settings and it gives me no problems. 😕 Bloated interface maybe, but that's the only issue I really see. The codec itself isn't THAT bad at all, it's just the strange hatred for the app that gives it a bad rap.

Given the choice I wouldn't use real player, but every once in a while it's the only option and that's why I keep it installed.

its horris. it ha sadds that never end. its always tryin to start itself. it trys to assoiate itself with everything

.

but luckily there is a winamp plugin that lets it plat RM files. i beleive there is also one for WMP

I think the real reason is that they once included illegal spyware, and still like to implement spyware, be careful what you agree to...

I say FVCK REAL MEDIA!
