P.S. Yes they are already really loud,, like, the whole house could hear them practically.. And i dont even shut them off, i just dont get up...

late for school (which starts at 10:30 about 5 times so far!!)

put your mobile phone on vibrate - put under pillow - user that as an alarm.

The last sence to be knocked out - and the first to come back during deep slumber (or unconciousness) is touch

i use my cell phone as an alarm - and change the alarm ringtone every other day -- becuase i'll get used to the alarm and it won't wake me up either. But if i change it often, i'll wake up to it.

1) Go to bed at the same time every day. Get up at the same time every day. Yes, EVERY day. That includes weekends. Do this and you'll never need an alarm clock as your body will wake you up automatically 5-10 minutes before you want to be up. Of course, still have the alarms for backup.

2) Don't lie in bed after you wake up for ANY amount of time. You've got your body accustomed to just lying there forever ignoring everything else since the bed is so comfortable and since you probably don't want to face the day. Thus your body has been trained to ignore things like alarm clocks and just say in a half awake / half asleep state. When you first notice you are awake, jump out of bed rapidly and harshly. Repeat every morning. Soon you'll hear that alarm clock immediately and get up right away.

To a certain extent I agree with this. I think discipline like this can be hard, especially for college students. I'm learning how to do this right now, actually.

I was just like him. I'm definately not a morning person. Up until 2, 3, 4, 6 am at night. Waking up at 7, 9, or 12 in the morning. It was different times every day. Then I got married. Wife wanted to go to bed at a set time. Things are 100% different now. I'm no longer tired during the day, I no longer need an alarm clock, etc. It can be done.

Thank god. I'm taking a year off before grad school to work and learn to function as an adult, then go back for a night JD program. I would consider going full time next year except for the fact that I have no discipline whatsoever and I cannot afford, for the sake of my future, to fvck up my law school grades.

using snooze is evil, snooze totally blows your discipline out the window . don't use snooze and get up the second you are conscience

I always set my alarm to the same time but 99% of the time I wake up about 5 minutes before the alarm will go off anyway. Unless I get to bed late, then sometimes the alarm wakes me up.

Isn't there anybody else in the house that could pull you out of bed (if you ask them)?

I am the same way as you are. I loath mornings. I have to set my alarm for 6:45am just to make sure I'm at work by 8:30am and I only live 15 minutes from work! I have the volume turned up as high as it will go. My roommate says he can hear my alarm and he is on the other side of the apartment and both of our doors are closed. lol I'm thinking about finding a couple of air horns and rigging em to my alarm. :)

Electrodes connected to your scrotum should do the trick.

But you may want to just go to bed earlier.

I think your sleep deprivation is affecting your ability to form coherant thoughts.
