Why oh why is there never enough hp...?

I am insane. As if 470 bhp weren't enough, I keep eyeing forced induction.

I've seen some reasonably tame options like the supercharger that results in aound 560 whp/590wtq, and then there are the totally bonkers TT setups with well over 750 whp.

Someone talk some sense in to me? 4.34s 0-60 is plenty and the extra power in most cases would just go up in a cloud of white smoke....

You fix your traction issue with more tire.

Then when you can't spin the tires at all, it means you don't have enough power.

See how that works? Bwahahaha

Give me lighter weight and nimble handling any day.

If you can combine all 3 though effectively, then you're golden.

It's not that I have traction issues at all now. I would if I added much more power though. ;)

I only have 255 tires in the back right now on 9.5" rims.

You have a Coyote 5.0 with bolt ons don't you?

I took mine out yesterday for some runs on these miles and miles of traffic less, unpopulated Alaska roads and I'd say go for more tire. I don't know who made the decision to go square 255s on all corners, but with RWD, in 1st or 2nd, there's just not enough tire and the Pirellis just can't cope, maybe 285s or 315s (10 or 10.5") on Michelin Pilot Super Sports would work better. I've also found the live axle doesn't like high speed on bumpy roads so I'd say go for a Watts link (Fays2 if you dont care about potential NVH, Steeda if you do) to civilize the thing. Also above maybe 80mph, the shocks no longer adequately dampen the thing so some coil overs are a must.

Power is great as long as you can put it down, the trick is getting it actually down. Even with a stock 5.0, the thing just isn't set up to put the power to the ground unless you have a decent rolling start.

I hear you, but at the same time I'm of a different mind set. To enjoy driving a street car at more than 25%, I think there can be too much power.

If it's a garage queen that just gets taken out for fun runs, then sure go all out. But on something I drive every day, commute in, and take road trips in, I don't have a desire for unlimited power. At a certain point, which approaches quickly, you can't use it safely in your average drive. I guess it comes down to driving a slow car fast or a fast car slow; I prefer the former.

I think 300-400HP is a good balance for your average street car, though the upper-end of that in a RWD car requires caution.

The type of tire makes a big difference. The Pirelli P Zero's that came with the car were horrible. Put on some Michelin PSS and you'll be able to put the power down better.

I have 550hp, and am seriously traction limited by the tires/suspension on my car. Ford Racing has a supercharger upgrade that bumps this to 750hp, but that would not be a good investment at this time until the traction is addressed.
