Well,

I had an Abit BH6 and SE6 mb and both ran flawlessly. The SE6 did have a problem with my programmable CH Fightstick becuase of an oversight in the design. After changing to the Asus Cusl2, I've had no problems with my JS.

I wonder if Abit has this problem because, for a long time they were the overclockers MBs of choice. When you damage a board by overclocking, you wouldn't tell the vendor you did so. You'd simply say that,"It died on me". User gets MB RMAed.

I know that there are many other MB makers that now cater to OCers but you gotta wonder if most OCers are still using Abits. I so, this may partly explain their high RMA rate.

On a personal experiane level,
I have never had any problems with my abit motherboards. I have used BH6, BE6, BE6-2, and BF6 (yah, all 440bx doh ;) and never ran into any motherboard related problems. On the other hand, every motherboard I have used that had a VIA chipset has driven me crazy with problems. I could just have bad luck though.

I'm starting not to care for Abit as much as I used to, I prefer boards like EPoX now, there 8KTA series is great, there all built great and very stable. I've used 5 or so of them in systems I built, and I'd take one over my abit anyday. No special features, everything is set up via dipswitches, but its stable and fast...just my $0.02
