Why no "Sports" sub-forum?

What's the possibility of adding a Sports sub-forum? It seems we always have to make posts in Off Topic on any sport-related news, close games in progress, trades, etc. I think a Sports forum would get a good amount of traffic.

Thoughts?

because the last thing we need is more sub forums.

we actually need to condense things back together

What does it matter to you, you can't seem to use the proper sub-forums now.

it's kind of dumb that they have "The Garage" and no sports forum. but whatever. probably one or more of the mods or nerd powers that be is a grease monkey. but... it was the best when everything was all in one spot. one-stop shopping.

I would be in favor of a "Fantasy Sports" subforum so all the dumbass fantasy "coaches" who can't make a decision on their own can ask for advice outside of OT.

But sports should remain in OT.

While we're at it let's roll P&N into OT :awe:
worse idea ever.

let's make P&N invite only. so the pissing matches would only be visible to those who are full of themselves and full of it, the kind that all deserve to be locked up together.

I'm down with sports. Whether it be football, public debate, or water sports. Let's lump them all together into one sub forum of epixxx proportions!

i agree with the last part.

all the sub-forum'ing did was make less and less traffic come to ATOT.

used to love the random YAGT's that would be here, but now i don't even go into the relationship forum.

Having a separate L&R forum is sort of bittersweet. It's nice that only people that really care about those kinds of threads will read them, but there's a much lower exposure and you get fewer replies from fewer people.

The original definition of "Off Topic" was a place to talk about what you'd talk about in a bar. This definition was plastered all over the forums until they switched forum software. If we can't talk about sports in a bar, then what the heck is left?

I personally can't stand dead forums that don't get any traffic. The fewer subforums the better.

Or even better: let us tag forums to come up in one big pile (such as tagging all social forums so that I can see all social topics on one page). That way we can see all that we want to see at once and none of what we don't want to see.

No, that doesn't work because there are different rules and expectations for responses in the different subforums.

because this is a tech forum for nerds who generally don't play sports?

post sports stuff under health and fitness.

L&R should be completely wiped off the board. Although, I do get the occasional laugh from reading some of the threads in there.

True, but the replies are WAY MORE on topic.
