Any one that say "a gotcha question" reminds me of Palin and is immediately invalidated as having a real opinion also in my mind.

yep. I hear "gotcha" question, and immediately think of that asshat standing in front of a row of drowning turkeys for her thanksgiving day message.

Yes indeed, the Cheney group promoted fear and made it policy. And it's true that some that might not have voted for the war did so because they feared the political treatment they would have received if they had not voted for the war.

In Hillary's case, however, she had in addition to the fear that was spread by the Cheney group she had to consider the large and influential Jewish vote in NY so it's likely she would have voted in favor of the war even without the fear being marketed by the admin.

The Jews made her do it?

Iraq will still be a central theme in many Republican circles in the 2016 election, a full decade+ since the invasion, and it'll be a intra-party war that'll cost these chickenhawks another presidential election.

Now that's a (perverse) gift that keeps on giving.

No, I don't think any Jewish voter threatened her with a gun so they didn't "Make" her do it. She had the same pressure to support the war that other congressmen had, but in addition, she knew that Israel supported the war and that many American Jews similarly supported the war. NY, more than just about any other state, has a large and influential Jewish population and they are mostly Democrats. In this case and many others, elected officials attempt to support the views of the electorate, particularity those that pool there power.

In other regions the elected pols defer to a base that are hard right Christians. Nothing new here...

What you are saying is she bucked against her better judgement to cater to the Jewish Voters. Ignoring the rest of the voters. And that makes it OK.
