So, you try to claim that Obama acts before thinking, and yet Obama didn't act in Syria, and was able to get something accomplished, in direct contrast to your hero Bush II who acted by invading a country to destroy WMDs that, uh, never were found.

Nice dodge.
Yes, I give Obama full credit for making Syria the safe, wonderful haven of . . . Wait a minute . . .

Nice dodge again!!!

We started with the concept of thinking before acting, with regards to Bush II, and Obama. Bush II with Iraq, and Obama with Syria.

Now we're talking about how safe Syria is. But I guess you aren't going to go out of your way to bring up how safe IRAQ is, are you?

lol

Keep on movin' them goalposts, hoss!

For those who still hold onto the "flawed intelligence" theory how do you explain the day after 9/11, the Bush admin was actively looking for a reason to invade Iraq?

Intelligence would not have been in. This was corroborated by at least two people

Richard Clarke
Paul O'Neil - Sec of Treasury

Oh this is priceless...

Jeb Bush Says Christian Business Owners Can Refuse To Serve Gay Weddings
Huffington Post 5/15/15
Likely Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush said that Christian business owners should not have to provide services for gay weddings if it goes against their religious beliefs.

So poor old Jeb pissed off his base with screwing up his answer(s) to last weeks Iraq question.
So now poor old Jeb feeds the kitty with something his base will like? A little gay bashing is in order.
When the going gets rough for republicans, queue the gay bashing.

I truly believe, totally 100% believe, that Jeb is actually dumber than his brother.
Go figure....

Well he does have to pander to the social conservatives at this stage, even if it is window dressing. He would never get past the primary if he came down on the morally correct side of this issue.

BothSides™ have to pander, though!

Clinton has to pretend to be a libruul, and Jeb has to pretend to be a batshit insane idiot.

Please. The invasion of Iraq was the culmination of an intense propaganda campaign directed from the Bush White House & the Defense Dept. Their exploitation of 9/11 for that purpose was masterful & ruthless, completely unprincipled, utterly fraudulent.

Whatever their reasons, the intelligence reports were selected from thousands to serve their purposes. Old intelligence reports were, uhh, "re-evaluated" with that goal in mind.

GWB said "find me a way" & his minions did so. Intelligence reports & so forth were merely selected & used to justify pre-existing desire.

America was both bullied & chumped into going to war by the bushistas. Some of us realized it at the time, some later, and some obviously never will being unable to admit they were chumped. Staying chumped about that & a lot of other stuff defines the Repub base.

this is what amazes me. IN this thread you paint bush as some mastermind in getting the US to agree with a war in Iraq. Yet in other post it's that bush is dumber then a brick.
You can't have it both ways. either he is some mastermind or a idiot.

Personally i go with he is a idiot. He is a good natured bumbling fool. He does not come across as someone who is going to manipulate the papers and direct others in hiding the real info in a war. He does come across as someone who would believe those that are there to help him.

I really do think that Bush may have been "President" in name only. I do think he was easy to manipulate by those he trusted to guide him.

I know for me, I use bush and the bush administration interchangeably and it's because he's stupid and easily manipulated. So while I don't think bush was smart enough to be the mastermind behind the Iraq war (I reserve that spot for Rumsfeld and Cheney), he's still an idiot for a number of reasons.

I think a person needs to seperate them. I don't have anything other then sadness for bush. I don't think he set out to have service men killed. I really think he feels bad for them. He is one that is very active in things to help wounded service people. I do think that he was given false information by his cabinet. as you say Rumsfeld and Cheney are the main.

Bush was just a patsy in this.

Though this is the reason i will NOT vote for Jeb bush. He has surrounded himself with George's old cabinet. I do not think he would be "President" in more then his brother was.

I seem to remember both Rumsfeld and Cheney had ties to company's that made major bank from the war.

Please. GWB & the rest of his team yearned for invasion of Iraq before he took office. They just needed a way to get there, and exploitation of 9/11 was the way. They never missed a beat in accomplishing that.
