Why no mouse-over preview?

One of the things I was looking forward to about the shift to vBulletin was the ability to - finally - preview threads by mousing over the title, like every other forum on the Internet. Why is this turned off?

I was wondering this too.

It makes the decision to click or not to click much easier.

It's a terribly database intensive feature, so we have it off for now. We will revisit the feature at a later date.

FWIW, another vote for it. Much better than 'blind' titles (especially since we have no subtitles).

I guess to really know if this is true, you'd have to know how much you'd gain by turning this feature on. If the feature is on, people aren't clicking and opening every thread just to see the first post... tough to say without more data (possibly data you can't even collect) if it's a clear gain to keep that feature disabled.
