Why no Instant Replay in Baseball?

Man, most other sports have figured out that the refs make bad calls form time to time so why hasn't baseball figured it out. I see so many bad Ball or Strike calls every game it's ridiculous. I don't even know why we have the ump calling balls and strikes anyway.

Most of the bad calls aren't from being too high or too low because that's more of a judgment call and is different for each player. But when a ball is no where near being over the plate and is called a strike, that's just ridiculous. I know I used to see some games where they had a camera directly over the plate and they'd show replays on TV. Then all of a sudden I don't see that any more. Makes me think the MLB made them stop it because it showed how bad the umps are.

Anyway, I wish they'd do something so they can challenge a call. Even tennis has figured out to implement a challenge system. Sucks seeing a game come down to the wire and seeing someone get called out on something obviously a ball.

If you do that, say goodbye to finesse pitchers. They're so damn good because they get those calls that are a little bit off the plate. Take that away and it's going to be real hard to get hitters out.

Some parks have those dead-center cameras that rate umpire's ball/strike calls and are reviewed after the game by the umpires/MLB.

even if they were to do something. they wouldnt do it on balls/strikes. i can see them doing something like football has. 2 calls for each team only usable on outs (not strike outs) and foule balls/homeruns

Long sport rules! Try cricket - it's like baseball but you don't have to actually watch it, you just drink beer in the sun all day and shout obscenities at the Australians.

I don't think they should review every play. I'm talking about something like Football and Tennis. Each team gets so many Challenges they can use. The only things I can see needing to be reviewed are bad Ball/Strike calls and Force Out calls. Everything else is pretty cut and dry.

And as for finesse pitchers, if they don't get it over the plate, then it's not supposed to be a strike per the rules. They are bad pitchers if they can't throw a legal strike and shouldn't be pitching.

I posted this because I was flipping channels and saw the Brewers Cubs game. Hart was up for the Brewers in the 7th, 2 outs, men on 2nd and 3rd and he got called out on a called 3rd strike that was so far outside even the announcers were in disbelief.
