why nic card light stays on after power down??

I have 2 machines that both have linksys 10/100 nic cards. both the lights stay on on the back of the computer and on the router they are connected toafter power down. I have a 3rd machine with a nic card my a different mfg and it goes off after power down anyone knows why this is so??? the linksys cards are both new and otherwize function correectly
 
its normal... let it go... if U want it to stop unplug your hub/switch they're plugged into since thats where its coming from
 
u can turn it off in UR bios under "powersave" or what ever it is for you comp. its where u make changes for the computers standby mode... what motherboard you got so i can be more specific???
 
Thanks for the reply. One card is connected to an asus 266c pentium 4 board. The other card is connected to an abit kt7-a amd board.
