How many times do I have to freaking test out my own stupid wireless adapater, before they will authorize my freaking warranty/RMA?
I KNOW for a fact it SUCKS and is either defective or that particular model is just always a piece of crap.
I'm on my 3rd or 4th diagnostic through their stupid webbased technical support and now they want me to try it on another computer! I WANT TO USE IT ON MY COMPUTER NOT ANOTHER! STUPID NETGEAR.
I PAID FOR Double 108 Mbps Wireless Internet Access with Superior Range NOT FOR STUPID SHORT RANGE DROP CONNECTION EVERY MINUTE CRAP.
I got angry with them in the last reply so they are now saying please kindly reply back.

Should I say no I do not want to use it in another computer, because my current computer uses a D-Link wireless adaper JUST FINE? And it also meets the requirements.

Never buying another Netgear piece of crap again. Their router sucks and their wireless adapter completely blows.

That's somewhat of a weak rant, I'll give it a 3 / 10. The anger was good, but it needs more passion ;)

So you're basically saying that you're unwilling to follow simple diagnostic procedures because you somehow have an indisputed right to return a product without following the manufacturer's procedures?

Yep, this is definitely ATOT. Waah. Cry more.

lack of reading comprehension again.. typical ATOT. If you read entire OP, you'll notice that he's already tried diagnostics 3/4 times...

Is it THAT hard to read these days?

Just tell them you tried it on 100 different computers and it failed on all of them.

No company out there is just going to hand over a replacement to you without doing this.

Good luck.

No, he said he's on his third or fourth diagnostic, which means they're trying different things.

Weak rant, even weaker "retort".

Is it THAT hard to think before opening your mouth these days?

You just wake up this morning and think 'damn, I hope I can flame someone today?'

Sometimes it's hard not to flame someone when it seems as though they're actively seeking it.

That said, I think I'm about to have to go through a similar process with Linksys for my POS WRT54G V5.

Last time I warranteed a router through Linksys, it was just a web form to fill out & sumbit, then I got an RMA number.

Ugh why isn't Netgear the same!
I don't want to do what I did again! The only new thing I saw was when they wanted me to hold down the reset button for 1 min. 20 seconds uplug the power. 20 seconds later plug it back in. 20 unplug the power. Then plug it back in. That did nothing except maybe make the router last 20 minutes longer before it would hang and die.

O yea and I mentioned it above, but I did do several things on the router that the reps haven't mentioned and none of them helped at all. Such as blowing a fan directly at it in case it was overheating. I did the manual setup and the CD setup. All the good stuff to waste my time.

Sorry for the weak rant!

!!! The 2 or 3 other wireless "adapters" work perfectly fine!!!
(Laptop, Laptop, D-Link wireless adapter)

I have to say the changes of phones or microwaves interfering at really slim since I cannot ever get the Netgear adapter to get anything beyond poor unless I cut the distance in half or something. Why would I want to move my computer when a D-Link does it just fine? Plus the Netgear description says superior range... whooops I mean really short range.

Anyways no phones were on and microwaves are on while using the Netgear adapter. No food being cooked, etc.

I used it on 2 different WRT54Gs, one with stock firmware, other with my brother's modified firmware. DD WRT.
I couldn't test it out with my WGU624 Netgear router, because it keeped malfunctioning. Yes I am trying to RMA that stupid Netgear router too.

O yea my post at 08/04/2006 04:46 PM was about the Netgear router not the wireless adapter! Sorry for the confusion!
