We have 3 cats and my wife works out of the house. They lay around and sleep most of the day so as long as she feeds them in the morning they aren't too annoying.

I usually have to close the door to the home office when I'm working from home to keep the cats out... they spend 90% of the day in a catatonic sleep on the bay window in the living room, but the other 10% would be spent jumping on my desk or trying to sit in my lap when I'm working from home.
