Why my parents are dumb

My parents are dumb. Here are a few examples:

Problem: The sun. It's too damn hot.
Logical solution: Move aprox. five inches.
Their solution: Buy ?2700 sun screen.

Problem: Can't see TV, my lenses are twisted.
Logical solution: Check lenses, make sure left lens is not in right eye.
Their solution: Buy new TV, buy new lenses.

Problem: I'm hot.
Logical solution: Eat something cold or turn on fan.
Their solution: Install air-conditioning.

Problem: Too cold.
Logical solution: Turn off said air-conditioning.
Their solution: Turn on heat.

Problem: The stove is too far away!
Logical solution: Move closer.
Their solution: Buy new kitchen.

They're dumb, and it shows. >.<

EDIT: I might want to add, we're not rich, and all this has happened in a timespan of over 2 years.
