Why my laptop give me system corrupt when add ram in?

This Toshiba M15-S405 that I've been running with 256mb ddr single stick in for about 1 and haft yr with WinXp no problem. Last week, I get a pair of 256mb ddr in and it gave me system corrupt before it boot to window screen. I've tried to clear install winxp with both stick on, it can't even install winxp. Test with single work fine. Any advice??

It sounds like the new RAM is either bad or simply is not compatible with your laptop. What memory did you get?

This thread should be moved to the hardware thread that deals with laptops! This is not a software issue.

Tested on single stick works fine individually. both stick are samsung pc2700.

see if maybe there is a bios update for the laptop

Bios up to date from toshiba website. I've it run with both slot with separate brand work fine. Will need to try different band.
