There is a huge thread over there about olevia displays and I did a search without any luck but maybe I will try just browsing through the whole thing

I looked initially as well yesterday at the huge thread just to see if it was mentioned within the first few postings but I didn't see anything in my initial scan.

You might try searching for specific threads with "problem" in the title as well as your product name.

Yeah I'll try that too. I can't believe I am the only one with this problem but it must just be some compatibility issue between the components. I just can't understand it. I wish I had another dvd player to try.

No i don't have any of the Pixar DVD's. Zoom 1 crops out some of the actual picture.

Zoom 1 shouldn't crop anything but the black bars on the top and bottom. I use it all the time when watching widescreen shows on basic cable.

what's that 4:3 OUTPUT : FULL setting at the bottom of your menu?

The explanation is in his manual.

The manual basically states to set it to full if you can change the aspect ratio on the display, which I can. This is the default setting.

It may be different for you but for me it definitely crops more than the letterboxing. It's very easy to tell if I pause the dvd and switch between 1:1 and zoom1.

Try setting the 4:3 output option to normal. I think full might be for 4:3 televisions that can do a 16:9 squeeze.
