One of the feral cats I feed died last night after getting hit by one of the many speeders that happen around 9-10pm each night taking a short cut through our street that connects to another major road.

I love speed but I keep it at the track or on empty stretches of a freeway...in residential areas I roll slow and am constantly paying attention. You never know if some kid is going to come flying out whether or not you think they'd see you coming.

I am fucking 1000+ miles away in Arizona so my wife had to bury him.

Just a rant...
 
My neighborhood is a dead end, yet people that live here still go flying by all the time.

Really pisses me off.

It's true though...I was talking to the guy delivering pallets to the office I am decommissioning. He has a problem with kids in the neighborhood stealing his fruit. He went to the parent's and they simply said 'we don't really care what 'he' does'.

Even at 40-50mph I am sure they saw it it was hit right under the light pole in front of my house.

If you can't see you need to slow your ass down.
 
Used to happen near my Grandmother's house all the time, really ticks me off. It's loud, dangerous, rude, and just unnecessary -- is 10 seconds really that great a time savings?
 
I live on an unpaved road (aka dirt), and the prevailing wind blows the dust cloud over my property....irritating.

 
How do you know the car that hit it was speeding? I've seen firsthand a cat run from a yard and jump in front of the rear tire of a car driving down the road. Driver of the car had no idea what he hit and pulled over. I rolled up next to him and told him what had happened. He never saw the cat and was definitely not speeding. All I'm saying is you don't have to be speeding to accidentally kill a cat with a vehicle.

I can't stand people who are in a hurry all the time. It's people like that who cause accidents, or deaths.

If you run over a cat, chances are you were going too fast. Cats are very quick and are scared of most moving objects.

wouldn't solve the cat problem...just witnessing them in my yard.

They came with the house more or less as the owner had outdoor cats. After six months of them staying around I started putting the food down again.

I go through 25 lbs of kibble a week...a lot of it is probably birds though. There are 8 or so regulars like clockwork in the morning and evening.
 
Speeding in the wrong places like neighborhoods and parking lots is one of my pet peeves. Its because of speeding in those areas that mindful drivers have to put up with those annoyingly huge speedbumps.

Slow the heck down!

I personally quite enjoy a little extra speed, but a residential neighborhoods are not the place.

The results are not pretty, as I witnessed a couple months ago. Luckily EMS was literally 600 yards from where it happened.

She assumed, and quite wrongly the the guy driving the car infront of me would be able to stop, unfortunately he wasn't able to by the time he noticed her.
