Why micro?

Helping a friend with a build and looking at AMD 880/890 boards, most of them seem to be Micro ATX. Very few full ATX boards around it seems. What is the downside to Micro ATX?

The smaller form factor mATX almost always includes fewer PCI-E and PCI slots than its ATX equivalent.

This may limit your ability to use multi-GPU arrangements (ATI Crossfire) depending on the board you choose.

There are a multitude of ATX 890 FX / GX boards available, though.

I failed to mention that I have a Cooler Master Stacker 830 which has to be one of the largest "desktop" user cases ever made. The thing must way at least 40lbs empty and I could straddle it and use it as a chair if I had to.
