WOOOT!! Heh, I could hug yah all, but that'd just be weird...

Allrighty, thanks to the amazing help you all have been... 5515 is the current score. For those of you with systems that do higher, shuv it! Heh, sorry...

Man, I've learned way too bloody much during this whole situation, can't be a bad thing, I guess...

Anyhow, that goes... given my results on the CPU Tests I'm probably gonna have to look into a faster processor some time not too distant (I think that's my biggest problem running UT2k4...), but for now I am very happy.

I really appreciate all the advice and critism you guys have dealt out over the last two days here, I can't overstate that, my best regards to you all!

With that, I'm off to the world of computer games and their mind-numbing effects

On the subject of motherboard 0wnage, my FlexATX case was an inch short on both the ATX PSU cable and the front USB cables. Now I have to buy an extender. :(

Hey, no problem man. It's not the best way to "get up to speed," but now that you're here, it doesn't matter. Welcome to the club.

That means a whole new board. If you are sticking to AMD XP cpus then a newer, better board is required. DFI Ultra Infinity will do just fine and its not too expensive.

THe one board I was lookin' at personally was the NFs-7, I know Anandtech's been pushing them a bit.... My board can (I believe) do up to a 3000+, but we'll see where I end up. I think I can get a pretty nice increase on my score even with a 3000, not to mention how much better I'd expect UT2k4 to run... that games so blood CPU demanding (poor coding?).

Say... I had put out a post earlier on RAID 0 configuration. I don't really know jack about it. Is that something you can do with one hard drive?

Oh, and one other "last question"... I also don't know jack about overclocking cpu's. In my BIOS I have the option to go from 1.5v to 1.6v with the CPU... Right now, even after being on for 12 hours, my processor is at about 42C... Do you have to increase the voltage and a multiplier or how does that all work?

Thanks again!
