Why isn't there outrage against MTV?

Where are all the self rightous parents to protest this show? They were there to protest Eminem, Janet Jackson, Dr. Dre. They were there protesting Beavis and Butthead, Jerry Springer, and South Park. So where are they now?

For those of you who don't know. I want a famous face is a show where girls in their late teens go in for plastic surgury to become famous looking.

This show should be the most offensive show to parents. Showing attractive girls getting surgery because they don't think they look good... But it doesn't offend them at all.

Let me answer my own question: Parents only protest a show when there is a mob for them to join. Mobs make them feel important and help them deal with their mid-life crisis'.

p.s. I could care less about the show, I just like pointing out how horribly inconsistent middle aged parents are.

Angst much 🙂

Elective plastic and cosmetic surgery are accepted cultural trends of our society...people seem to overlook the dynamics driving this trend, which is our society's obsession with image and physical appearance.

Regardless, parents are not going to protest something that they openly embrace...plastic surgery has become the fountain of youth for their generation, and it is now becoming a key to social acceptance and popularity for their children.

Regardless, the show on MTV, in documenting these cases, is also demonstrating the almost Frankenstein monster perversion for many of these procedures...I have caught a few episodes of this show, and I did not get the vibe that the show was overtly in favor of such surgery.

They're holding back their protests until a show like 'Treasure Chests' come out.

Treasure Chests - where 12 & 13 year olds vie for implants so they can become size 44D's.

Just you wait - it'll happen, brought to you by the maker of Automobile Safety Air-Bags,
saving lifes from impact since the 1980's.

🙂. I hate to think of myself as angsty. I guess I am when it comes to middle-aged psuedo-moralists.

Looks like angst to me .

Maybe when you hit middle aged you'll recognize it for what it is . 🙂

P.S. I don't try to impose my morals on anyone. :cookie:

You dont realize how whacked out that network is until you get out of college.

Then you start looking at the real world and wonder wtf world MTV is in.

MTv is terrible. It's made for kids with like a 4 second attention span. It also doesn't play any music, negating it's title as the Music channel.

Just wait. Once some poor misguided young girl who watches the show regularly mutilates and horribly disfigures her face trying to give herself plastic surgery at home, then the protests will come.

On a side note, MTV is the downfall of America.

The best way to protest it is not to watch it if it bothers you.

Rational thinking! Go convince the rest of the baby boomers that's the way to go 🙂.
We don't need convincing as we don't watch it..well not since they gave up the Music Format.

BTW, most of our children are adults and it's them who are raising the stink.

It took you that long to realize that MTV shows are crappy? 😛

MTV gets a free pass from the media because they are the key to indoctrinating our youth. Well, colleges also get this pass. Whatever the case, the media, MTV, and liberals are all clearly on the same side. MTV is just a tool in the culture war.
