Why isn't IRDA standard on all Laptops ?

Why isn't it ? It's such an awesome feature.

I just transferred like 15 ringtones to my phone using iRDA it kicks major ass

yes it does~!
it makes connecting to PDAs and other devices that use irda much easier to transfer files between each other.

You ever try to sync a PDA through irda? I wouldn't exactly describe it as fast.

It might possibly be faster to copy the data you're trying to sync over to your PDA by hand 🙂
