You are the one that is ignoring the topic of this thread, and searching for arguement.

I believe CanoFWorms colonizist argument is quite valid, when looking at the difference between India, and China, today.

Colonization, is an established power, with the strength of it's (sic) army, and the political pursuit of it's (sic) citizens, exploiting a subservient country/people.

-John

Dude, why don't you think about your posts for two seconds before you hit submit? There's really no need to have multiple responses to my posts.

I'm fine with your definition. But keep in mind everyone's ancestors had been subjugated by "established" foreign powers and subjugated. (I don't think you really wanted to use the word "subservient" though because you're basically insulting Indians and other colonized people.)

Why don't you just skip a couple steps and get right to where you want to go. You want to distinguish between European colonization and the many other sources of colonization that have been around since the dawn of man. COW likes to single out Europeans because he hates Britain (for example advocated the US bombing London and claims Churchill is worse than Hitler). What's your rationalization for singling out European colonization?

I see that you don't have a rebuttal to my previous post. You repeating that COW's argument is valid doesn't make it so.

Yea, I know... we are all painfully poor excuses for people.

If you would be half-way on topic, then it wouldn't just be I rebutting your attack.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? Obviously you don't want to discuss anything so I'm sorry I bothered. I'm sure COW will be in soon to lie about me.

I'm directly responding to your posts. If I'm off-topic than you were off-topic too. To be more specific you claimed colonization was a major factor for India's condition. I pointed out that it isn't even a unique factor since every group of people in the world or their ancestors have been conquered at some point or another. You don't have a response so you're trying to claim I'm off-topic.

I don't know or care who COW is, I guess that is some great inside joke.

I'm just trying to post to a thread.

Someone else claimed that Colonization was a major factor in India's problems. I (after searching my soul, agreed with him)

Then you come at me like I am this big, kwnoledgeable guy, about Colonization.

I told you I wasn't... but you kept attacking.

I'm not attacking you I'm attacking the position. There's a huge difference. Are you someone that takes position based on what his gut tells him? If so there's no point in discussing anything and again I'm sorry for responding to your post.

I'm not freaking out. I can take you attacking me when my argument fails.

But just to be sure, you are attacking me, when my arguement fails.

You just need to ignore InfoHawk. He's a white supremacist here and thus sees Europeans subjugating non-Europeans as a beneficial action to most countries. He believes that the deaths of non-Europeans is actually a good thing.

He once said that the British could not actually commit genocide against Indians because white Europeans cannot commit genocide. In his white supremacist world, 'genocide' cannot be committed by a white European. That's how he actually defined it.

I owe an apology to InfoHawk and the people in this thread.

I was only trying to state my pointof view, and I am sorry if I antagonized people.

InfoHawk, I would ask you to keep disagreeing with me, just on some other day. ;)

InfoHawk,

I'm sorry... I couldn't stay the pace with your arguement, so I lashed out.

Next time I will be better prepared.

No worries and I don't think you crossed the line anywhere so I don't think you owe me an apology. (And I recognize my posts could have used less sass btw so I'm not above of it all by any means.)

all we hear on the financial news outlets is how fast china's economy is growing. yet we hear nothing about india.

they have similar populations so their human resources should be comparable.
they handle most of our tech support calls. they are an educated society for the most part.

why are they not enjoying equivalent success as the chinese?
is chinese manufacturing pulling them that far ahead?
are there other reasons, perhaps political?

More people on US TV are talking about China than about India?

Pay fair rates? More like order them to accept what they are given and move the fuck out or else. Oh and lol at "conducting ecological surveys" part unless you are being completely sarcastic.

Somebody gets paid under the guise of fair rates and ecological damage. It didn't seem necessary to add that the money likely doesn't make it down to the dwellers of that area (who probably don't own any of that land anyways).

Who has colonized India in the last 50 years? Why do people in India have to kill themselves if they cant pay their debt? Maybe this is something wrong with India and not the rest of the world???

can anyone find that graph which compares indian and chinese gdp growth from x=0 being the beginning of economic reform? that shows it pretty well that china has about a 20 year head start.

Here you go. I think there was no data before '62.

Going by that graph.. Chinese GDP started growing from late 70's.
