Why isn't Cool n Quiet working for me?
I have an Abit KN8 Ultra (Socket 939) with an AMD X2 3800+ (Dual Core).
I enabled CNQ in the bios (Auto or Disabled are the only 2 options.)
I also set my power scheme to minimal power management.
My CPU just doesn't want to throttle down when i'm not doing anything.
Other information: I have it overclocked to 2.6GHz at ~1.5V. I know it is probably best not to enable CNQ, but a lot of the times my CPU is barely in use and I can still disable it before I game.
I downloaded and installed this file: AMD Athlon? 64/FX Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16
Am using CPU-Z to see if it would throttle down. In the past with another CPU it would throttle down, I think it was an Opteron 165.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
