Why is "we haven't been attacked since 9/11" an accurate guage on the WoT?

Of course not. That would be entirely contrary to my beliefs.

And I would agree that Iraq was a good thing if our leadership would tell us that it was done for strategic reasons. I would agree completely with that. But I haven't heard that.

Otherwise, like I already said, what Bin Laden may or may not intended is anyone's guess. My first post in this thread was simply to call attention to our actions and intentions. Our democracy tends to have a brute force knee-jerk reactionarism to it. Such a thing can be exploited without too much difficulty or skull sweat. Thinking that we've won or are on the right track simply because nothing has happened for a relatively short period is just one example.
