I'm not sure if this has any bearing to the 'The company is free to sell what they own at any price THEY deem fit. Not you, not the government, THEM' arguement or not. The day of, and the day after, 9/11 a local chain jacked up their gas prices to $4-$5 a gallon. They were later fined and, of their own accord, gave out free gas for a day (should've seen the lines at the pump :) ) Should they not have been fined?

There is a fine, but well defined line between free market enterprise, and price gouging. I touched on that earlier in this thread.

The two are not the same.
