Somehow I doubt that this is legit. Who sells a one of the kind $50,000 prototype on Ebay? Much less a user with no previous sales. Sounds very shady to me. Anybody could have gotten those pictures and written a description.

Sure they can. What about all those damn bids though? Then again after seeing the motorcycle thread, the amount of, um shall we say intellectually challenged individuals in the world must be overwhelming! :Q

Cheers!

If i bought it, i'd fly it. I'd sign the contract to not fly it too.

I'd do my best not to get caught, but if I did it would still be worth it.

Heh that's like buying a computer that you know will o/c to 100% over delivered and signing a form that you agree not to! Of course it's a lot easier to get caught buzzing around your neigborhood with two large fans strapped to you vs. changing BIOS settings in a 'puter.

Cheers!

If you read below, the auction was cancelled because they left out the rather important fact that the device is inoperable and the buyer must agree not to fly it.

This is a real machine. I've been loosely following its development for some years.

There have been such flying devices since the '70s (peroxide rocket powered, I think..), but the drawback that makes them unworkable is that they can only contain enough fuel for a maximum of 30-45 seconds of flight. Given that this is a different design, I wonder if this unit has a better flight range.

They claim it has a range of 100 miles.
