Why is this forum turning into DIGG?

What the hell? Latetely every other post goes Palin *insert inane, nonconsequential fact here* or FED *some sort of conspiracy and doom and gloom scenario* or OMGZZZZ OBAMA snapshot without his hand over his heart!!11!111!one

Are we reverting back to when Ron Paul nuts spammed this place ~1year ago?

I agree. Every time I see an intelligent post, the partisan hacks come out and just ruin the thread. I don't think there used to be this much hackery on this board.

You can be partisan, but this is just mass stupidity. Every other thread mentions Palin with some sort of idiotic fact, virtually idential to when Ron Paul people ran over DIGG... I may have to stop reading this forum if this continues.

In the last month the quality of P&N has nosedived, I think mainly because of partisan a55clowns on both sides posting tons of completely inconsequential rubbish, oblivious to what brainless, biased hacks they are.

too much partisanship here. what's the point of DISCUSSION if one side is always going to spin it one way and the other side spin the other way, and always in the same predicatble fashion

Yeah, and what's with all the Bush apologists? You'd think intelligent people would wake up and realize what a horrible president he really is and that we need change in this country...not more of McSame.

Everyone's drunk on politics. It's going to be hilarious when they wake up in January and realize who they went to bed with.

 you think you contribute to the IQ level here? If i wanted to hear talking points and slogans, I'd turn on the tv...

The above is analogous to Ron Paul nuts saying "support liberty, support RP"

It's simple rich Vs the Poor.

It;s simple simple those that hate this country Vs those trying to save it.

Sadly it is still looking like the Mental Rich Recessive Republicans that hate this country will win both in here and the election.

Oh the ironing of you posting in a thread that criticizes the IQ decline in this forum...

We have had a number of threads demonstrating and proving beyond any doubt, in my opinion, that partisan people are incapable of real thought. And the explanation, while profoundly simple, can't be believed, further compounding and fixing the problem as eternal:

Humanity is infected with self hate. This deep fact is totally denied and avoided. Nobody will reopen the old pain they so carefully and profoundly buried behind the shield of alternative self-respect, identification of the false self, the ego, with this or that external. I happen to be a member of the best country, religion, party, county, family, etc, in the world and if any of that proves false, I just might die or actually feel how much I really do hate myself. Every partisan is a partisan because, otherwise, he would feel like a complete asshole. And it is in just this pretense that we aren't assholes that we become one.

Wow, that's deep. You've convinced me, I'm going to support McCain now.

The problem I have with the republican party is that they are supposed to stand for less government -- lower taxes, less regulation, and fiscal responsibility. As a result of the last 8 years we have lower taxes but we also have spending gone wild, and a massive increase in the national debt...the complete opposite of fiscal responsibility.

I couldn't possibly care less about abortion or religion and it just pisses me off that these topics even matter to people when Wall Street is crumbling and the economy and the housing market is a shambles.

I just don't trust the republicans at all...and I am a registered republican.

After the conventions the campaign took a major turn into divisive politics... I'm not one to point fingers.. but divisive politics is a hallmark of one of the parties... heh. But I would say everyone is getting caught up in it now, a shame really. I was watching some old debates last night, from the Reagan/Bush/Clinton era and the tone was drastically different.

If we've become more partisan and polarized, it's because of a profound change in our culture over the last 15 or so years, IMO. Pop culture, sports superstars, 'bling', and media foster a "winner take all" mentality that has weaved its way into our lives -- even in politics.

There used to be a time when Dems and Repubs worked together, and there was an understanding that no one would get everything they wanted. Now, people 'fight to the death' -- an all or nothing mentality. And it's got to stop. But neither party wants to be the one to extend the olive branch -- a sign of weakness in today's age.

I'm done wanting one party to control our govt for precisely this reason. My political leanings are center-right, but the extremes of both parties have shown themselves to be completely unacceptable. Vote for divided govt and force these a$$holes to work together or fail at getting anything done.

 Sorry, but IMO we've seen enough of that.

I agree and it is disheartening to hear conservatives use the word liberal (Libs or Dems) as a derogatory term. Why do you have to put down someone with a different viewpoint or label them as the enemy? It is disgraceful, I want no part of it.

Yup, what we need is total Democratic control. The bickering will stop when the Republicans are totally crushed. You can't have sanity constantly fucked over by mental illness.

Swing and a miss... I'm merely pointing out the fact that repeating mindless slogans thought up by political strategists bring NOTHING to the debate.

"more of the same" is nothing more than democrats taking a cue form the "stay the course" vs "cut and run" republican rulebook. "Change" and "hope" is the same emotionally toned garbage as "axis of evil". Idiocy all around...

Yeah, why put anyone down or label them, but that's a nice sig line you have.

In Politics, individuals who make stupid decisions transfer the result of their stupid decisions to everyone. So its ok to be stupid. In the free market, individuals who make stupid decisions end up with in a worse situation than everyone else. So individuals generally make less stupid decisions. Everyone who is pissed off at our current situation just needs to look at themselves.

I think there's some merit to the above. OTOH, I think the origin of the divisiveness is really on the Right.

First off, the influence of talk radio has been huge, and damned little of that has anything to do with anything other than absolutist positions about anything and everything. Those who so desire can tune in to their choice of rightwing rants 24/7/365...

And I think there's a lot of Denial in self-styled "conservatives" wrt who they elected in 2000, 2002 and 2004. Leaders who represented themselves to be moderately Right tending to center have shown themselves to be anything but.

After 9/11, the greatest political windfall since pearl harbor, the Bush Admin and their congressional allies took a hard right turn and slapped the pedal to the metal. They set out to crush anybody who got in their way, adversaries both foreign and domestic.

"With us or against us" didn't just apply to Saddam Hussein, but to Tom Daschle and others as well... all driven by fearmongering and hurt pride.

"Free, freedom and Liberty!" didn't apply just to the Iraqis, but to various financial entities looting the economy, as well. "Let the Market (the SACRED MARKET) decide!" Well, until the Market decides you're all taking up the backside because of your foolishness, and then it's bailout time...

Anybody else remember all the raving about terrarist sympathizers, appeasers, defeatists, pussies and pansies? Mission accomplished? Duct tape and plastic sheeting? Spinning the terrar color wheel to whatever suited their purposes at the moment? How about the Grover Norquist definition of "bipartisanship"?

The only way these guys will come around at all is when they're utterly beaten, humiliated, discredited. I'm sure, however, that they'll receive greater mercy at the hands of Dems than they ever offered when they were on top... we're kinda soft-headed that way...

You responded to the one part of my post that was just a joke and completely ignored the serious bits. Good job at bringing up the level of intelligence.
