Why is this forum full of Nissan fanboys?

<<We were actually talking about nissan in my marketing class. That poor company is doing anything they can to stay afloat. They simply cannot compete with the Hondas, and Toyotas that saturate those ends of the market segment.>>

Ehhhh...I think your marketing book is outdated. Charles Ghosn has totally turned the company around. Heck, they just posted a $1.9 Billion profit for the first half of 2001.

Seriously, why can't people have their own opinions without others jumping on their sh!t??

I fscking hate Chevy (or rather, GMC in particular), in fact, if I ever got the chance, I would firebomb every dealership to kingdom come because they make crap cars and have jerk salespeople and hire mongoloids in their service department.

And for the record I'm not a huge Nissan fan either.

I stand corrected, but if you read the article it states,"Nissan Motor Co., a Japanese automaker whose fortunes have improved since striking an alliance with Renault SA of France" and they sent someone to "fix money-losing Nissan"
They could not do it alone, they needed someone to bail them out. kinda like how Ford bailed out Jag!!

Don't believe me? Go drive a loaded Maxima and tell me otherwise. I've never been an any car fanboy before but the maxima takes the cake.

i like the maxima a lot, but i have to disagree. a standard maxima will cost you the same as an Acura TL, where everything except the nav system comes standard.

performance is the about the same in my book, the difference is marginal at most. but i like the interior of the acura more than the maxima. the back windows roll down all the way, you have air vents for the back seat, side mirrors tilt down when you go into reverse, you have that pseudo manual transmission, etc. comes with sun roof etc. basically everything.

if you were to buy a maxima with all the stuff that the TL has, it'd be a lot more expensive.

<< "Dag yo, buy a Maxima, those are tight, my mommy has one." *YAWN* >>

now which hole did this fool crawl out of?
no one talks like this in this forum.
you are the only troll here that i've seen talk like this (in awhile at least).

people on these forums are educated, informed people and they know a good value for the dollar.
other cars are also recommended if they are good reliable cars
camry, civic, accord... sorry, no domestics come to mind 😉

nissan makes good cars for the money.
IMO, nothing beats it for price, quality, reliability, and performance.

as for your idiotic Audi comparison, yeah it's got a nice interior.
but it's in the luxury segment, difference price range and class.

I swear, someone asks a question about a car and some assclown jumps in and says "Get a Maxima yo, all cars are junk if they aren't Nissans". I was reading the thread about the supercharged pontiac some kid wants and i'd pick that any day over a maxima. Nissans have cheap interiors like most inexpenisve cars and lame power to make them about as fun to drive as a hyundai. Friggin fan boys.

Call me a nissan fanboy, because I am one. But I don't make stuff up; I try to back what I say with facts. You say the Maxima has lame power - compared to the GTP? I think we already proved that the maxima was fast. Who is the fanboy now? Also most people would say the maxima has a better interior.

OK, GO NISSAN!!! Happy now assclown fanboy?

I can see that as a fresh member you're doing your best to fit in here. I see only one real hardcore fanboy in this thread.

<< OK, GO NISSAN!!! Happy now assclown fanboy? >>

No. I'm not.

I'm not a Nissan fan. I drive an '86 Honda Accord that cost $500 Canadian. I was just insulting your moronic "GO CHEVY!!!" cheer. Asshat.

<< if you were to buy a maxima with all the stuff that the TL has, it'd be a lot more expensive. >>

Naw man, the maxima we drove was fully loaded 'cept for the navigation. Asking was 28k. The TL-S we drove was asking 33k, and it is a nice car, but the maxima auto also has the exact same shifter. Keep in mind, I am talking about the TL TYPE S, the regular TL doesn't hold it's own against the Maxima SE. Plus it's got heated seats/steering wheel. I didn't notice the back windows or air vents in the back cause I never sit back there and don't care about the people who do, haha. Both very nice cars though.

Uh, no. The Maxima starts at $22,866 invoice. A fully loaded GLE (luxury trim) would be under $28K invoice.

The base TL has a $26,802 invoice, Type-S is $28,942. But you can bet the Acura dealer would be a lot less willing to deal than the Nissan dealer.

Don't get me wrong, the TL is a pretty sweet car. But you can get a Maxima much cheaper.

My G/F has a '01 Maxima 25th anniv. I love driving the thing. You tend drive 80mph everywhere because you don't feel like your going that fast. I beat some lame punk in a Mustang GT awhile back. The only bad thing is it needs premium gas.

I've got an '87 300ZX Turbo and a '00 Frontier K/C Desert Runner.

Lovin da Nissans.

yes what it starts at is lower, but if you want an equivalent car, it's most expensive. go to nissandriven.com, take an SE, and give it the options that the TL comes standard with. it's over 30,000.

I am bustin up watching you guys call each other "assclown" "asshat" etc.

Those are very creative 😀

MORE! MORE! MORE! MORE!

Yep...Renault bailed them out just in time. But Nissan is so successful now that they purchased a 15% stake in Renault. I don't see Jaguar doing that with Ford any time soon. 😉

Probably the truth. Not so sure what Acura stores will do for you, but any of the five Nissan dealers around here will go down to invoice + a couple bucks for "token" profit on a Maxima. My friend is a new Nissan sales manager, so that's how I know this. (This is also why I've driven so many new Nissans.) They're probably going to start really dealing on Altimas real soon now that the pipeline is nearly fully supplied.

EDIT: BTW, I'll be taking a five hour drive in a 2002 Altima SE V-6 5 speed tomorrow. 😀

You are right, the SE does top out around $30K MSRP (although you can't match up the options exactly, you would get 17" rims, Xenon headlights, 30 more HP on the Maxima, shiftable automatic on the TL etc.).

But still, I guarantee that the TL is much more expensive in reality. You would be able to get a much better deal at a Nissan dealership.

This is not at all a slam on cars at all... but I just question how they get to be the price they are, some of the prices I'm seeing are just... I'll say weird to me, It amazes me that any car thats not Race or specifically a Luxury car every cost's more then $25K, our style of living is crazy.

I bought a Fully loaded 4x4 Fullsize Truck with taxes and everything included for only 28K off the lot, besides milage and easy parking a truck is 10x more functional then a car... now for all the kiddies I'm not slamming cars, I'm noteing that for all the function over a car, why are they in the same price range? it just doesn't seem you get what you pay for, My Civic LX I bought back in 98 I only paid $13,500 for brand new, it was 4 doors got killer milage and did the point A to B just fine. To me the $13,500 was so much more value as it did every function of the Maxima or Type-R or whatever is being talked about, it might not be as fast or as big, but really now, is Size and that little bit of speed that doesn't go anywhere on the real road (I know 1st hand as my daily driver has 480HP/560lbs or Tq) but is it worth the extra 10-15K+ thats being talked about... to me it would take a LOT to be worth even 5K, I can understand that in cases the import Car's have a more fancy interior, but I know a shop for $2000 could make an interior that would blow the barn doors off even exotic cars, it just doesn't add up to the 10-15K plus (my Opinion and I'm not using the board 😉 )

I'm not stating it as a slam, just a point of veiw, and kind of a "whats the deal?" 😕

you get xenon HID with the TL, fog lights... the only thing i can see the maxima beating the acura in (in regards to exterior features) is the rims. you'd be surprised at the type of stuff that comes standard on a TL, i know i was...

But still, I guarantee that the TL is much more expensive in reality. You would be able to get a much better deal at a Nissan dealership.

i doubt it would be that much more expensive, if at all. i can get a TL for 29k, alienwho can get a fully loaded maxima for 28k... and i *think* the acura would have more features than the fully loaded maxima, though i haven't really looked into this. but my basic point is this, i think the acura TL is a better value. this was not the case in the past, but they lowered the pricing for the TL this year.

gopunk, you also have to take into consideration that the TL is a smaller car than the Maxima. The TL is a midsize sedan. The maxima is sort of an in-betweener. It's not a midsize, but it's not a full size. It's right between them. Many manufacturers charge a premium to go in size.

And you're not being a GM fanboy? That thread was a "Pontiac vs Maxima" thread - pick one or the other. You're biased towards the Pontiac - everyone else isn't biased towards the Maxima - they'd just prefer it over the two, not if they had their choice of any car.

gopunk: I agree that the TL is a better value in most respects. I was just trying to show that the Maxima was available cheaper. And you have showed me that the gap isn't as large as I thought. 🙂
However, if I personally wanted a Maxima SE, I would probably get a manual tranny and I would probably not order every single option available on the car. The 255 HP with the manual would be the main attraction for me of the Maxima over the base TL. I still think I would pay quite a bit less, as Alienwho experienced.

Nissan still needs to fix the Maxima's rear styling, too. I hope the '03 Max finally has a [Al Pacino voice]GREAT ASS![/Al Pacino voice]

that's true... good point.

bigsmooth -

yea it's probably cheaper all in all... it's a question of niceties i guess. if it were my money though, i'd buy a civic, being the cheap bastard i am 😀

i agree, if i had one complaint about cars in general, it'd be the rear end. imho, most sedans today kinda suck at it although honda/acura seems to suck less at it. probably because they're more traditional.

is it just me or is the ford taurus one of the ugliest cars ever made? i just don't get it...

<--- is confused with a Maxima being faster then a car that does a 100mph 1/4 mile
