You claimed that topic such as these demoised the current Iranian regime, I merely pointed it out that the iran govt did a better job of doing that by itself. In other points, I agree with you, Iran needs to rediscover its glorious preislamic heritage i.e Cyrus the great, Persepolis etc.

They do. Look at the reactions in this thread.
People are jumping at the Iranian regime because of it and have hate built up. The people who create these sites are getting what they want. People are close-minded.

People fail to see what is happening around them in their own world.
There is no perfect place to live and no perfect country.

I would jump at the Iranian regime if they tied the kid up and forced his hand under a car, but his own father or uncle or whoever did.
That's no different from the hundreds of thousands of rape (incest) crap that happens all over the U.S and every part of the world. It might not be as severe, but all it shows is bad parenting.

Bad parenting happens all over. People beat their kids, rape their kids, abuse their kids, starve their kids, lock them up.

It's not any government's fault. It's mankind's flaw.

BTW, when a parent or uncle does this, what value system are they teaching their children? That it's ok to exploit yourself or others, in such a way for financial gain?

I don't care what the excuse for it is, it doesn't sit well with most people. It also just goes to show how backward such places are and why they are considered third world....still. 🙁

BTW, this thread could get ugly. I know I have emotions about it. I will try and refrain from saying what I really feel.

You are too close-minded.

This doesn't show anything.
I can bring up 10,000 articles of crap much worse happening in the U.S.
What will that prove? Nothing.
Proves there are bad apples in every group.

This is why these websites are made. People are too close-minded and like to generalize fast.

My dear Aimster,

The difference between Iran and U.S is that in the U.S incidents like these are crimes and in Iran, incidents like these are legally ordained justice.

How do you know this is legal/illegal in Iran?
All I've seen is one incident of this happening out of 70 million Iranians.

Iran does have child protection services just like the U.S and if they feel the child is in danger they will remove him/her from the parent's home.

As you read about all the time, these services/agencies suck because of a lack of funding and the people who work/run them usually are overwhelmed.

This kind of crap happens by the hundreds of thousands in the U.S and all parts of the world. If every parent was to teach their kids good values then we would live in a perfect world. We (as a nation) wouldn't need child protection services and we wouldn't be worried about our children's welfare if everyone raised their kids "right".

wow a stunt. so what.

its a country that executes thousands of homosexuals. two gay teens were recently hung. aimsters got a real hard on for defending iran.

Asgari had been accused of raping a 13-year-old boy, though Outrage believed those allegations were trumped up to undermine public sympathy for the two youths, both of whom maintain they were unaware homosexual acts were punishable by death, an AP news report said on Sunday.
http://www.irinnews.org/report.asp?ReportID=48274

The report does not name the victim. Under Sharia law the victim of a sexual assault must also be executed.
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/07/072105iran.htm

Consensual gay sex in any form is punishable by death in the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to the website Age of Consent, which monitors such laws around the world, in Iran ?Homosexuality is illegal, those charged with love-making Irangay_teens_2 are given a choice of four deathstyles: being hanged, stoned, halved by a sword, or dropped from the highest perch.

According to Article 152, if two men not related by blood are discovered naked under one cover without good reason, both will be punished at a judge?s discretion. Gay teens (Article 144) are also punished at a judge?s discretion. Rubbing one?s penis between the thighs without penetration (tafheed) shall be punished by 100 lashes for each offender. This act, known to the English-speaking world as frottage,? is punishable by death if the ?offender? is a non-Muslim. If frottage is thrice repeated and penalty-lashes have failed to stop such repetitions, upon the fourth ?offense? both men will be put to death.

According to Article 156, a person who repents and confesses his gay behavior prior to his identification by four witnesses, may be pardoned. Even kissing ?with lust? (Article 155) is forbidden. This bizarre law works to eliminate old Persian male-bonding customs, including common kissing and holding hands in public.? And Outrage, in its release about the gay teens? execution, noted that, ?according to Iranian human rights campaigners, over 4000 lesbians and gay men have been executed since the Ayatollahs seized power in 1979. Last August, a 16-year-old girl was hanged for ?acts incompatible with chastity.??

According to Outrage:

They admitted to having gay sex (probably under torture) but claimed in their defence that most young boys had sex with each other and that they were not aware that homosexuality was punishable by death. Prior to their execution, the teenagers were held in prison for 14 months and severely beaten with 228 lashes. Their length of detention suggests that they committed the so-called offences more than a year earlier, when they were possibly around the age of 16.

http://atheism.about.com/b/a/187568.htm

According to Iranian newspapers, the two boys were given 228 lashes for their other convictions of theft, disrupting public order and public drinking before they were hanged in Edalat ("Justice" in English) Square in the Iranian city of Mashhad. The executioners, fearing reprisals, wore masks and anti-riot forces were mobilized to prevent outbreaks of public protests.

....Iran has been under fire by international human rights groups for executing teenagers in the past, including the 2004 execution of Atefeh Rajabi, a 16-year-old girl convicted of having sex before marriage. Medical reports, not allowed in the court, had stated that she was mentally

...Tatchell told reporters that according to Iranian human rights activists, more than 4,000 lesbians and gay men have been executed in Iran since the ayatollahs seized power in 1979. He said an estimated 100,000 Iranians have been executed in Iran since that time.ill.

Um, no, it's not the end of the thread.

Even assuming what we are seeing is "street performance" there can be no doubt that the child is not a happy, willing participate. That is clear in this "after" photos:

Apparently the kids arm isn't broken. He doesn't look too happy, tho.

If this is 'street performace' then it is child exploitation of a particularly venal & disgusting kind.

One wonders what kind of a society must Iran be to tolerate this barbarity..

better picture of the situation? Those articles are made by Iranians living in the U.S to make the Iranian govt. look evil. I am an Iranian in the U.S and I am pointing it out how I see it. The article itself even says it is a street performance. The link you posted took out the text but someone posted the ones with the text. If anything I would want to make the iranian govt. look evil. I do , but I dont go around showing BS articles to make my agenda look better.

I see this crap all the time on hundreds of websites. I've seen this already .. these pictures are not new to me. They are old news but they pop up because someone decides to put them on their propaganda website.

Use common sense. The guy is using a microphone in the first picture and there is a towel under the boy arms.

The purpose of these pictures hitting the internet is to say the kid is being punished for a crime. If he was being punished for a crime, why would they put a towel under his arm?

Not that I wanna prove you wrong or anything, but isn't it common for people that are executed or punished in Iran to get microphones, so that the public can hear thier screams better? It was on TV just yesterday, someone was getting whipped with one of those tow-truck steel cables for having sex with a minor. Not that I don't condone the brutally killing of paedophiles, but his screams were ... with a microphone..

Whatever.

FACTS

The sites you posted are pure crap. 365gays.com is your source? An Iranian propaganda site is your other source? Amazing.

I believe in case this was a street performance, the child should have been smiling as if it is superhuman, as if the there was no pain or hurt caused to it.

However, everyone can clearly see the child is awashed with pain due to the cruel, bestial punishment inflicted on it.

Aimster, stop trying to delibrately mislead this forum

I am Iranian and I know what is going on.

Logical fallacy - "appeal to expertise". Rather than present your evidence or convincing argument, you just flash your 'credentials'.

You would have to be pretty silly to think that is going to fly. 😉

There is no doubt in my mind that the child is experiencing great distress - fear, possibly pain.

This may well be some kind of barbaric "circus act" designed to entertain passers by.

Nevertheless, it is a "circus act" that involves a significant act of child cruelty. :disgust:

I am disgusted at those who brush this event off, as if it is of no consequence.

Are people so desperate to defend Iranian socienty & culture, that they can actually overlook or minimize the importance of such child cruelty?

Whatever.

There are about 100-150 executions in Iran every year. That's is a high number but not the thousands people are claiming it to be.

Iran is not Saudi Arabia where they will cut off your limbs in the street. That is illegal in Iran. Whippings come before death sentences. Iran does have public executions (hangings). Public punishment, show me pics I have not seen anything other than hangings. Iran used to have public punishments when the regime first came into power, but that was early 1980s.

They even had more severe cases when the IRI came into power, but those types of executions/punishments have been banned or placed on hold.

Show me where someone was getting whipped by one of those steel truck cable things.
What you probably saw was a group of Shitte people in Iraq whipping themselves on the back for Ashura and people pass that crap off as happening in Iran when it is illegal.

The main reason you have this propaganda is because there are close to 500,000 Iranian Jews living in the U.S. They are very wealthy, educated and have plenty of resources available to them to spread their propaganda. They obviously do not want an Islamic Iran. The other Iranians who are not Jewish are loyal to the Shah regime and want his family to retake power.

So I shouldn't take the words of a government who has the evidence to a crime and I should take the word of some reporter in the U.S? I mean because this one incident and this one incident alone (because there are no others) is really hard to believe... yeah that's it.. two boys could never rape a child .. it's just not possible..

It cannot be possible so it has to be because they were homosexual and only homosexual. I mean because the police go raiding homes trying to catch men sleeping with each other so they can hang them on the street. That's exactly what happened. Common Sense, where is it?

I mean I shouldn't take Iran's response seriously, I mean they execute homosexuals by the hundreds of thousands according to you.. which is pulled out of your ass... show me more cases.. I am waiting.. show me 50 🙂

You lack the ability to survive outside your parent's comfort zone. Common sense is lacking with you.

Wow, so much idiotic knee-jerk reaction in this thread. Kudos to Aimster for providing information and his take on things.

These are pictures of an event somewhere. We don't know if it was staged, real, what the context was etc. Regardless of the context, having a little boy's arm under a car tire is wrong, but to immediately jump to the conclusion that the evil regime in Iran is to blame is absolute stupidity and shows a clear lack of logic and rational thinking.

If it turned out this was actually some government sponsored punishment, then I would blame the regime. If it was endorsed or sanctioned by the government, then I would blame the regime. If it's just some idiot father/uncle whatever doing this for money, then the regime is no more responsible than the US government is for some sicko molesting a kid somewhere. We simply don't know the facts, and yet people are perfectly willing to jump to some knee-jerk reaction.

good god you just don't know when to stop defending the undefendable. pretend they are minors that raped a child ok? does that make hanging them even remotely alright? good god. these nutters are going by sharia law, and its known what happens in authoritarian police states. there are informants everywhere. people are tortured or coerced into turning in other people by making accusations. or someone with a gripe will make an accusation. its how places like that work. you don't have to have random police raids in oppressive fear based societies. you really think all the people are card carrying government stooges marching in line? sorry, if that were true they wouldn't need their roving bands of religious police to enforce their brand of control.. or both the body and mind. they've taken 1984 and made it real.

if you are so willing to believe what a kangaroo court in a repressive and untransparent country spews out for rulings i hope you apply the same standard when judging whatever comes out the bush admin.

"This is just the latest barbarity by the Islamo-fascists in Iran"
said Peter Tatchell of the London-based gay human rights group
OutRage!

"The entire country is a gigantic prison, with Islamic rule sustained by detention without trial, torture and state-sanctioned murder.

"According to Iranian human rights campaigners, over 4,000 lesbians and gay men have been executed since the Ayatollahs seized power in 1979.

"Altogether, an estimated 100,000 Iranians have been put to death over the last 26 years of clerical rule. The victims include women who have sex outside of marriage and political opponents of the Islamist government.

"Last August, a 16 year old girl, Atefeh Rajabi, was hanged for 'acts incompatible with chasity.'

"Britain's Labour government is pursuing friendly relations with this murderous regime, including aid and trade. We urge the international community to treat Iran as a pariah state, break off diplomatic relations, impose trade sanctions and give practical support to the democratic and left opposition inside Iran," said Mr Tatchell.

Yes if they raped a child they deserved to be hung. You got a problem with my thinking? Go call the FBI and report me for whatever it is you believe I support.

Don't talk about Iran's police when you do not live in Iran. Do not talk about Iran's underground forces or informants when you have no knowledge of such things. You don't even know about the U.S informants or police force and you are commenting on a foreign nation's informants, etc... simply amazing. You should go work for the CIA you have so much knowledge on Iran.

Kangaroo court? Are you suggesting that the Iranian courts are not fair when it deals with rape cases? Prove it

The rest of your non-sense is just that. I don't give a damn what the Iranian regime does. This is totally off-topic with this thread. You think I am a supporter of the regime, you think that. Your nalksjafddsk away at the keyboard trying to talk about something I don't even support to begin with is a total waste of my time and yours.

Nice link OrooOroo..

I'll be sure to read that man's essay (opinion) later.

That proves nothing.

By the way that idiot didn't leave Iran because he was fearing his life. All Iranians want to come to the U.S. He is just another idiot who likes to make propaganda sites.

sorry, the oppressive nature of the iranian regiem is no secret. its not obscure knowledge only accessable to academics. i don't knwo what rock youve been living under. you understand nothing of authoritarian regiems where people just dissapear and are executed, where people are tortured and live in fear. you think they publish reports to brag about such things? such regiems are the best at hiding their crimes from monitoring groups.

I never said the Iranian regime was good or perfect.

What part of I do not support the Iranian regime do you not understand?

Are you blamming the Iranian regime for the actions of the police?

This crap happens in India which is a democracy, this crap happens in all the Latin American countries.

No regime is going to change the way the police operate.
Get a clue.

by the way the religious police, secret police of Iran whatever you want to call it... was disabled years ago.. nice try.
