Good thing my friend runs a website and I get hook ups from him all the time...whenever I need it.

I include 6' USB cable with all of my printer auctions online for free. Pay $1.30 a piece for them with free shipping from Acortech

Fry's has semi-OK prices.

$4 or so for a USB cable that's really worth $.75 or so.

The traffic in ATL may suck, but we've got Fry's and Ikea now.

Anyone remember when parallel cables used to be included with printer purchases?

:(

My old HP printer came with a Parallel cable.

Because there's no money to be made on things that people really want.

People shop for computers, and go where the price is lowest. They don't shop for cables - they get them while they're there because it's convenient. And after they've dropped a grand on a computer or stereo they're not going to be stopped by a $20 cable.

That's where the chains make their money - on the accessories.

Sort of like gas - you never see a gas station anymore that's just a gas station. It's also a convenience store. There's no money to be made on gas - they're hoping you come in and buy a gallon of milk while you fill up.
