Why is there no Storage forum category?

I was thinking of posting up a question that was harddrive related, and was searching for an appropriate category to post in. I headed to peripherals to see there's not much regarding storage, let alone activity in general in that category.

I figure Storage is significantly broad enough that it can encompass a lot of specific things - Harddrives, Internal & Externals, Optical Drives - CDROM's, DVDROMS, DVD Writers, BluRay, MO drives, tape drives, RAID... need I continue?

Agree. Though GH is sometimes overrun with very basic and repetitive questions, we were all n00bs at one point. :) I've learned a lot of what I consider "advanced knowledge" i.e. SCSI from threads I've posted in GH.

I enjoy helping the new folks in GH; makes me feel like i'm coming full circle. :)

Nah, I think they should just make it about 20 times bigger, with big red arrows pointing at it, and maybe a text saying "Use me hard handsome".

Lol.

However peripherals, though not many go there, is where i would think it is supposed to go. But i would go to General HW.

You realize this would just make people avoid it more. :D

I kindof forgot about general hardware.

My comment on the search feature wasn't necessarily directed at anyone in this forum. It was just a general comment. :p

Well, I try to answer questions in the Peripherals Forum, as not many people go there and many posts aren't answered and drop to the bottom. But personally, if I really need an answer quickly, then GH is where I go.

A general hard drive question certainly falls under hardware, so there's no issue there. However, a post with the title "How do I partition my hard drive in WinXP?", doesn't belong in General Hardware IMHO.
