Why is there an AMEX symbol on back of BB gift card?

it's an amex and usable anywhere last i checked. scratch off the box and you get the CID.

ok so all i do is scratch the box on the back of the BB gift card, and then it basically turns into an AMEX gift card?

I thought it meant that Best Buy's gift card transactions are run on the Amex network? I would be *really* surprised if they'll let you use them anyplace else but BB.

Yea I agree as it is somewhat of a logistical nightmare to sell a GC at thousands of stores that will be valid at any of the other stores. It would be much easier to pay someone like Amex who has a similar enough network to use.
