WHy is the middle east fighting?

Isn't it because Abraham didn't trust God and had Ishmael from Sarah's handmaiden so God decreed that Ishmael and Issac's decendents would fight forever???

No real good reason, the folks in that area of the world are rich and bored so they kill each other. A lot of it has to do with certain cities or places that they think are holy.

They have always fought for one thing or another so it was very naive for Clinton to think he could settle there problems. Peace in the Middle East is impossible.

Well what do you suggest, Oh Wise One? Should they just fight until they kill each other off? Sounds like a wonderful idea. Why don't you get elected president and make that your foreign policy?

Its all of the middle east against Israel, Israel is only lasting because we supply them with our weapons and technology, if it weren't for us, they'd be gone. The only way to really end it is for the Israelis to "surrender"

I would take your opinion into consideration...but the only thing holding me back from doing so is that exactly 17 minutes ago you were asking why the "middle east" (as if it were one entity) is fighting. Now you're giving the solution as if you were an expert on the Economic, Military and Political crises in the Middle East.

I like Konichiwa's plan. In spite of all the effort there's no law or alliance between the high-ups that will make the citizens stop hating each other. We need to pull out and let this thing run it's course... Maybe when the dust settles there won't be anyone left so we can have all the oil!!

I was hoping I'd get a little history into this topic of the fighting. I know most of the current info already

Because there are two countries that have two religions that want the same capital.

Yeah, both are religious countries. They both share jerusalem as their most sacred land. The jews hold it valuable because of all the old buildings, synagogues, and artifacts there. I think it was also the capital of Zion (can someone verify this).

For the Muslims, Jerusalem is very important due to the fact that there is a temple they hold sacred there. It holds a big rock that Muhammed supposedly rose from to ascend into heaven (without dying). So they hold it pretty sacred.

I am just waiting for the vatican to send in some troops, cause of Jesus. That would be interesting.
