Why is the little pinky toe always messed up?

Ever noticed that? On most people, the little pinky toe is messed up. It's either too short, the nail is totally screwed, it's sorta twisted, or there is some other thing wrong with it. Why is that? Is it because it's just a piece of meat with very little support and thus gets twisted and turned very easily?

To my understanding, that's the exact reason.

I think it's because of our shoes. It kind of pushes the pinky toe in toward the others. On my foot, when it is resting naturally, the pinky toe is sort of rolled under the toe that's next to it.

I agree. WTF kind of purpose does it serve? I always jam it, too, or drop stuff on it. Cutting it off seems like a viable option.

I agree.

Unless you wear sandals which don't squish all your toes together the smallest toe is always going to get fsckered.
