Whats wrong with my driver's lisence, my social security card, my passport, my credit cards, ect.... And what exactly will a national ID card solve? I don't understand it.

How about we just skip that and get bar codes on our forheads.

Because there aren't any standarized nationwide ID cards at this time and what about those that aren't even citizens living in the US: foreign exchange students, visitors w/ Visa (not the credit card), those without, permenant residents, illegals, etc.... We need a centralized database of all those managed by the federal gov't not local gov't, who half the time don't know what the fvck is going on half the time and not limited by state but nation as a whole. Besides some states department of motor vehicles are more easier to fool than the others and records are kept as up to date.

ROFL...and the feds are going to do better......ohhh I think i just wet myself. You must be new here :D ;)

And just what will be done with this national ID card? Who keeps records of when its used and where? What will those records be used for? But most of all, do you honestly think it will be so strictly controlled that anyone who wants one wouldnt get one? Right.......

Its a waste of time, money, and a potential invasion of privacy

It will solve nothing unless we are planning to kick everyone that doesn't have one of the cards (ie: illegals) out of the country. Not that I'm implying that's a bad idea mind you.
