We have received several complaints about DominionSeraph trolling and derailing this thread.

Raw milk is pretty gross, but if someone wants to buy and drink it whatever. Fucking FDA.

There are protected peoples on this forum. I have been banned numerous times for silly shit, while watching idiots troll and flamebait(both against the rules) constantly go OT, derail threads, etc and nothing happens. Call them a piece of shit for it? Bant! Idiot mods are ruining these forums.

Based on that bolded section, why do you support the FDA's seizure of a product line (aged cheeses) that cannot carry the contamination that they tested for (listeria)? Those are separate pathways.

well according to the FDA... listeria can still be detected in cheeses which are aged less than 90 days. They even recommend that if you import unpasteurized cheeses, that you age it yourself for 90 dayss to be sure...
since not all aged/hard cheeses require 90 days, most only go for 60, then yes it is still possible to contract listeria from aged cheese.

In FACT, the FDA has been considering the banning of raw milk in aged cheese since 2009.

Sorry, I finally dropped the "hard aged cheese" that I've been saying throughout most of the thread. The Estrellas age their cheeses more than 90 days. I believe their standard cheese was 180 days aged. They sold artisan specialties, and ultra aged cheeses command a premium price.

The CDC considers listeria in hard aged cheeses to not be a risk, going so far as to warn pregnant women away from unaged cheeses but listing aged cheeses as fine for no-risk consumption.

Yep, in scenarios where the initial level of contamination is so heavy, or for specific cheese types, it's a possibility. This is why earlier I said "properly aged..." Meaning going beyond threshold levels, and also using good HACCP controls and testing. It's all part of affinage
