there are plenty of black males convicted of raping white females, yet are they treated like hate criminals?? of course not, they are rapist. why should it be any different?? if the team did rape her, they are rapist period.

you guys saw that one video where the white guy in the pizza parlor got KTFO by this huge black guy??? is the black guy racist towards whites?? perhaps, but he was treated like a person that commited assault. why should this be any different??

There were (allegedly) racist remarks directed towards the stripper by the lacrosse players. Also, there was a 911 call at the time of the party that said someone at the party shouted "N*****" at two girls walking by the house (again allegedly).

Eh, I just hope the DA has solid evidence for these accusations, rather than trying to make an example out of some rich kids because they're priviliged...

Well, when Bubba (the large black man) raped little Missy, he kept screaming cracker and whitey, why wasn't that a hate crime?

EDIT: I know you are posing the allegations, but I am posing a what if.

Well, that would be a hate crime, with the crime being rape.

What about that example in NYC where 5 irish girls were gang beaten by a group of 30 black girls. The black girls yelled "cracker and f*** you whitey" while beating the crap out these 5 girls. The DA didn't even raise the possibilty of a hate crime until the NYC irish community damn near rioted. Theres a huge double standard for hate crimes in this country.

QFT. What I don't understand is why we have to term something a hate crime. If they are going to selectively enforce it, they may as well just call it a crime and make the punishment sufficient. Why does the motivation matter?

Supposing that the players did rape the stripper. Does it really make that much of a difference that they are also racist? It's not like everything would be ok if they're not. What the hell? "You hear about the guy who raped that black girl? He wasn't racist though, so it's ok. Wait, he was? Lets go protest."

This reminds me of how some black people got upset when Susan Smith killed her kids in SC and claimed a black man kidnapped them. The bitch killed her kids; does it really matter if she's also racist or not? Then there were the people who got upset with the police because they approached the investigation under the assumption that Susan Smith was telling the truth and the kids were kidnapped by a black man. Should they not have investigated a possible lead just because a black man might be involved? It wasn't like they didn't investigate other possible leads also.

All these people who are treating this like a hate crime are closet racist themselves.

Are you saying that they have hate crimes so that the black community doesn't riot?

That is a fairly accurate assessment of the situation.

Kobe Bryant died for her sins. My, my, isn't it fun to watch reverse racism play itself out in the pc media?

I thought they took DNA samples from all the white players and none were matched to the "evidence"?

Controversy. Media thrives on it. They try to make you concerned about an issue so that you will watch their coverage. Which means: ratings++ -> $$++

You see, all judges have ESP, and are able to read your mind and determine your motives for any given crime. Thus, they fairly and justly are able to punish two people very differently for the same crime.

Don't forget the story about the group of black kids yelling "get whitey" while chasing a white college student into traffic where he was struck and killed...
