Why is Steam still SUCK? Metro 2033

So, after being on PC gaming hiatus I decided to buy Metro 2033 for the new PC in my sig. I say new because I started building it 3 years ago and just recently finished. Been busy with life and work. Anyway. I picked up M2033 for 9.99 on newegg and installed it this morning. Installs Steam, bunch of patches and Nvidia stuff and 40 mins later it claims its done so I launch from Win7 desktop and BAM! Steam bitches about some physics .dll missing or not installed. Really? I remember steam bitching years ago but still? Anyway, I found the executable from the program directory and managed to get this game working. But I would think Steam would be working properly by now. Great game BTW but running it maxxed out strains my system. Damn, gotta upgrade soon I guess.

I had this happen to me after installing some game recently, can't remember which, but this was the fix, and I don't use Steam at all.

It sounds weird, but some games require Physx to be installed, even if you don't have a Physx-capable GPU 🙁

This happened both with my old 5770, and now my 6950.
